First off, is the manual transmission available on a crew cab LS 1SB 3500 with the duramax? I looked online and chevrolet.com depicts that it is available.
Second, how do those who have this setup or similar like the ride, power. Is it worth it or should I stick with the allison auto?

I would just get the Allison.. save you from shifting all the time, its a bullet proof tranny and with what the trucks cost..why not..

You are limited on your interior options when you select the manual due to the console.
The manual is "derated" last I checked as well. It makes slightly less HP/TQ than the Allison does.
I was going to get the stick, but with the interior options I wanted, it was not available. Now, I'm glad I got the automatic.

Yes, you do have to give up a few opitions but, in my world it is by far the only way to go. This is my second 6-speed and I love them. With all the additonal power programs and a quick right hand you can run with ANY automatic.

Hauln' no clutch/flywheel problems? That's what I'm worried about.

Get the Allison. It can be pretty hard to unload a manual shifter and your trade-in value will be shot to hell.

driving should be fun and IMHO auto are boring, yes the alli is a good auto but i'll take the 6-speed any day. for the extra price of the alli I can get a c-mac clutch set-up.
with no limp mode!!

Ill die in the truck, so resale dont matter to me.
I agree though, the 6 speed rocks. Sooner or later that big Alli will need to be replaced, and that cant be cheap.
You can get a 6 speed with anything but the LT/SLT package. No big deal.

As far as clutch and flywheel problems my 04 LB7 had 3 flywheels in 17,000 miles loved the truck couldn't stand all the problem though. My 05 has 13,500 miles and no problem what so ever!!!! I love it.
