I did not realize how cold it was going to get last night, and I am running B100. It got down to about 34 and my biodiesel setup on me.
The truck would start and run for only a couple seconds.
Once the temp came up and the biodiesel liquefied, the truck started right up and runs fine, but the check engine light is on and I cannot go over 2k RPM's.
The biodiesel is fine, it does not go bad when it goes through these cycles. I have been running B100 in this truck for a while now.
What do I need to do to get my truck out of this mode where it will not go over 2K RPM's?
Thanks for the help,
Russ

Best solution would be if you know someone with EFILive have them clear the codes, or go to an Autozone and ask them to read and clear them (they'll do it for free).

You might try using a fuel that doesn't gel at 34 degrees. Just a thought.

that is a real helpful, statement :idiot:.
for some help, get the codes cleared with a scanner. i bet you have p1093, and p1087 stored. also change your fuel filter. i had this same thing happen to me this winter when the temps were in the low 20's for about a week. changing a fuel filter at midnight when it is high teens to low 20's is a pita. good luck

Can you use degelling products like diesel 9-1-1 with biodiesel?

yes you can and cycle the key on and off a few times and it should clear it self of the failure and allow it to start and run normal, but still store the code. start it and let it run, shut it off doing this will clear the limp. i would definatley get the code read though.

I know that this is like opening a can of worms but I do sell B100 and depending on the type of "BioDiesel" you get the stuff can freeze solid anywhere from 48-32 degreees F. This stuff is extremely unstable as far as fuel clouding
