Hi, I have a 90 gallon aluminum aux. fuel tank that I'm going to be putting in the back of my truck on a small platform. It's not new, so it's had diesel fuel in it.
My question is, can I convert this tank to hold wvo? I'm thinking I would need to cut a hole in the top and install a copper heating coil, as big and as long as I could fit in there. Is this right? Or do I need to buy a new tank that is built specifically for wvo?

You don't need a special tank that will work. Do a heated coil with the pickup tube down the middle of it so you get the hottest VO. I would use an alum coil or heat exchanger. DO a seach I have even seen them on Ebay. Search this on Ebay " WVO COIL Heat Exchanger - Vegetable Oil SVO Biodiesel" If you cut the top open make it big enough that you can get in thier to clean if out if you have to. Viton Seal for gasket material. Good luck

goldenfuelsystems is having a clearance on fuel level senders also under specials. All kinds of different lengths. I just ordered mine.

I was never a fan of putting coolant coils inside my WVO tank. If you have an aluminum tank, it will easily conduct heat through it. So, you could soldier your coils to the bottom of tank, insulate the whole works, and you'll be just fine in all but the absolutely coldest weather (and then it'll only take just a little longer to get your oil to flow). You don't have to have "hot" oil in the tank, it just has to be warm enough to flow.
I had a plastic tank that simply sat on top of coolant pipe with my oil outlet near the bottom of the tank, and even the partially-hydrogenated stuff I used would be flowing in a couple minutes.

:DI just found the aluminum appx.100 gallons diesel tank from salvage yard, its looks excellent condition/shape. It mounted from International 18 wheels and had wrecked totally.
Wonder, good idea to put it onto my Chevy 2500HD bed for using WVO. I have been researched on the WVO tanks of Green Dream, Golden Fuel Systems, Veggie Tanks are pretty expensive $$. I could NOT afford those:(..
Suggestion about the Alum. 100 gallons tank, mount onto bed of my truck?
