: Am I wasting money on Lexol???
Grouperassasin 04-16-2008, 11:11 AM Ok, I asked this in the King Ranch Seat thread, but didn't want to Hijack the thread, so I'll start one here.
Are we wasting our money putting Lexol on our seats? If they are this Vinyl coated leather seating surface, is it safe to assume that the lexol will never get to the leather, therefore, I'm pissing the money away? I'd much rather save that money and buy some more beer, and have the time to drink it rather than treating my seats in a exercise of futility. What's the word?
If it is Vinyl coated leather, what are we supposed to use to clean and condition the seats with then? Some Aerospace 303?
Mad Maxx 04-16-2008, 03:19 PM I use Vinylex. It's made for Vinyl, plastics, ect...
Duratys 04-16-2008, 03:57 PM Zaino Z9 and Z10 is what I use.....The smell is awesome. Our leather has a coating on it so "traditional" leather conditioners are useless.
Grouperassasin 04-16-2008, 05:32 PM Any of those leave a residue? I don't want it to feel greasy, but I want to take care of my stuff.
Duratys 04-16-2008, 07:01 PM Z9 is the cleaner...simply spray on the seat and work with a small stiff brissel brush and wipe off. The Z10 is the "conditioner"....squirt a small dab on a cotton cloth and work into the leather...no need to wipe off. I even do the steering wheel....Not a greasy product at all.
Hell if your looking for something wicked for paint protection they have you covered as well.....I really like the products they have to offer.

We use the Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on just about all of our leather surfaces (when there's any left after my wife uses it on her saddle and bridles), I use the Lexol vinyl cleaner and protectant on the plastic and vinyl surfaces.
DMAXNAZ 04-16-2008, 07:52 PM Lexol
floriduramax1 04-16-2008, 07:58 PM LexolME 3!!
SixPak 04-17-2008, 01:08 AM I recently conditioned my leather seats with neatsfoot oil. It seemed to make the leather a little softer and more comfortable.
Rosey 04-17-2008, 07:39 AM I've had my truck over a year now............. don't use anything. Seats look fine to me.

You will be regretting that decision if you plan to keep truck for another year. My b'inlaw did that and in the second year his cracked badly.
Grouperassasin 04-17-2008, 08:15 AM So do we keep using Lexol that's made for real leather on our Vinyl coated leather seats, or do we use a Vinyl product?
I have noticed that Lexol doesn't seem to make nearly the difference on these seats as it does on a Benz, or even my old 97 Yukon for that matter. What's the general consesus?
aka108 04-17-2008, 08:16 AM Bick No. 4 does a great job on leather, boots, saddles and other tack. Easy to apply, keeps things pliable and prevents cracking.

Its actually a polyurethane coating that our seats have.
The reason Lexol dosent work like it does on real leather is because ours has the poly coating on it. I have found Zainos Z9 and Z10 to work better than Lexol......it leaves the leather feeling softer and seems to last alot longer as well. Nevermind the disgusting smell that Lexol has. Try the Z9 and Z10 get one of the cotton wraped applicators with it......if you dont like it or think its better than Lexol I will buy it off you
Grouperassasin 04-17-2008, 05:54 PM Duratys,
Thank you Sir! That was the answer I was looking for. I will be ordering some Z9 and Z10 shortly. If I recall, the Z9 is the cleaner, do you think I need that now on brand new Black seats? I might just keep up on the Z10? Thanks for the insight. I was wondering, I'll save the Lexol for the old lady's Accord.
Duratys 04-17-2008, 06:29 PM Nope get em both......Z9 and Z10. Get one of their little cotton applicators for the Z10
dozerboy 04-18-2008, 09:29 PM I have very good luck with Four Start products smells good too.
KevinsDMAX 04-18-2008, 11:11 PM I thought just the back seats were vinyl coated. Always thought the fronts were leather seated surfaces according to the sticker.
