Has anyone had a IH 484? I just got mine running after I rebuilt the engine in it. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them like what problems they have or things to look for. They guy I got it from died so I cant ask him anything about it. :(

I knew of one in a nearby town a few years ago. I sold the guy a couple of rack loads of hay and he started to ask me if I knew anything about them because he couldn't find parts or info about it. I'd never heard of it until then. He said the hydraulic system was a nightmare and he was about to give up. That's all I know, but at least it's something...
My take is, if parts or info are unavailable, then it's not worth having for anything other than parades. Sure wouldn't want to count on it in the middle of work.

You can jump to the _85 or _95 series for most parts, I redid a 585 a few years back and just went with 595 parts or in some cases 40 series parts. I good CaseIH dealer is a must. Good work horse if it has not been abused.

A good resource for tractor specs is www.tractordata.com (http://www.tractordata.com)
But this site will hopefully help you out more:
http://www.ytmag.com/store/index.htm is where I go to ask questions. I have gone there numerous times for my Super M and some of our old hay rakes that according to Titan Machinery were never made. :) It is a wealth of information and a useful place for manuals and 12 volt conversion kits, etc.
