: What is the tallest tire I can run, 2500HD
stepuptata 02-07-2005, 07:05 PM I have a 04 2500 HD. I just installed 2" leveling keys(ground to top fender lip, 39.50"). I want to run a 20x10" wheel and either a 305-50-20 Nitto Grappler(32.2") or a 305-55-20 (33.10") . I do not take this truck off road and I deal realize I will have to trim the front lower valance. Thanks for the Help and suggestions. I'm new here, Troy.
lbz492 02-07-2005, 08:58 PM i have 285 55 r20 bfgs on 20x10 they are realy 32.5 x 11.70 and i got as much as i could out of the t-bars and i had to trim the lower part of the front bumper and pull back the inner fender because of how wide they are. from when i was looking at tires i didn't think i could fit the nittos but that was just me. i can't stand when the tires rub and i don't off road with it. you have to watch out on how wide the tires and the rims are.
stepuptata 02-08-2005, 04:46 PM Thanks for the info, I'll probably try the Grappler 305-50-20 (32.22x12.4?) on a 20x9.5. Hopefully they will fit. I can't stand rubbing either. Thanks again, troy.
number9 02-08-2005, 10:30 PM My truck has the stock keys and T-bars cranked nearly all the way and front fenders measure 39" and rear fenders 40". It still has 245's on it - PO had it this way, I just bought it about a week ago.
Fingers 02-08-2005, 11:01 PM 365/65-16's on 16x10 rims. Some fender trimming required. No lift, not crank.

stepuptata 02-09-2005, 05:25 PM Dammm, Fingers, I can't beleive those monsters Fit! Did those beast rub with the OEM flares?
Fingers 02-09-2005, 05:36 PM Rub is an understatement. I have cut about 1-1/2" off the bumper a nd valance and just over 2" off the fender behind the wheel. Generous use of a 5 lb hammer on the cab corner finished making room. Not for the faint of heart. My biggest problems were the windshield washer tank and wheel well liners. I Drained the tank, put the shop vac on the filler neck and heated it up till it sucked itself in.
stepuptata 02-09-2005, 09:09 PM Thats a bit to much custom fab work for me.:) I'll leave that for the pros like yourself. Looks good. C-ya.:ro)
SaguaroKid 02-09-2005, 09:22 PM Fingers, you got a heck of a shovel collection going on there?
Fingers 02-09-2005, 09:31 PM Oh come on Stepuptata, what's a little sheetmetal and fiberglass?
And Saguaro, you jealous or something?
HEMIEATER 02-09-2005, 09:39 PM Fingers, you are CRAZY, but I like it!
Oilbrnr 02-10-2005, 01:36 AM Fingers, you got a heck of a shovel collection going on there?
He needs them for all the stuff he spreads around here!!!
Seriously, what is up with all those? Are you bury'n bodies back there in PA?
Fingers 02-10-2005, 08:19 AM What's the fascination with the shovels? Good looking truck in the picture and everyone looks at the wall behind the truck. Thought this was a truck forum, not the grave diggers weekly.
The shovels are leftovers from my general contracting business. I'm retired from that now.

I was thinking the same thing:lol:
Fingers 02-10-2005, 09:18 AM one shovel for each ex wife.....:)
SaguaroKid 02-10-2005, 01:16 PM ):h ):h ):h
stepuptata 02-10-2005, 10:51 PM OK, enough about those damn shovels. So-what if he barried his ex-wifes in the back yard:) ;) . Lets talk about more important S@#t, like what size tires I can fit on My 04 HD:ro) . I'm tired of slicing my pizza with these gay-ass factory pizza cutters!-:t
Fingers 02-10-2005, 11:41 PM OK, back on topic. It really depends on how much you are willing to modify. Without a lift. 35's will fit with some trimming and tucking of the fender liners as long as you don't go too wide. The problem with mine is the width swinging wide when I turn the wheel.
IMO it is silly to go with anything less than an 8 inch wide rim. With that in mind, you have to step back to the next best choice which in my opinion is the 315/75-16. Some mods to get it to not rub, but everything is off the shelf. (Since you don't like my custom work :))
Dock Rocket 02-11-2005, 11:12 AM Will you be selling the flares when you are through? :grd: I'd like a set. I like the front's better than the rears.
stepuptata 02-11-2005, 01:16 PM I was thinking of either; 305-50-20(wheel 20x9.5) or 325-60-18(wheel 18x9), nitto grapplers.:ro)
Fingers 02-11-2005, 01:35 PM Of those two, I would go with the 325/60-18's. These trucks look out of place with the super thin rubber.
