Who has a brake controller in the van? Is there a plug for it or is it done old school? Also the plug on the rear of the truck. My van had nothing and I just installed the hitch, class 5, and used the quick plug inside the van for the lights but nothing for the brakes.

Dad has an '03 Savana. I took it to a local business that I have work on my truck called Nothin' But Truck and he said there is no quick wire setup on it. I think basicly you have to do it all old school. There is a kit for them for trailering that has its own power supply seperate form the lights on the van so it doesn't steal any current form the vans lighting system but that's all I know of.

If your van did not come with trailer package you need to run the wire front to back. I had to do it to mine.

It came with nothing. Under the seat though there is a fuse panel with some fuses for the trailer lighting. I also see a plug under the truck same spot outside the frame rail for upfitters so I need to find out what that can do if anything.

I used a plug in harness at the back of the van for the lights and wired in a brake controller the old way and connected all the wires for the round 7 pin plug.

i installed the hoppy# 41345 kit.
it plugs in by the rear drivers side door. it does need a power supply (+) to power the trailer lights. it doesnt drain the power going to the vehicle lights. there is a + line in the rear also that is there for the rear heat option. you can connect to that. no need to run wires to the front.

Mine came with a tow package ( wires were there) but not a 7 pin connector. The guy that installed it had to go into the fuse box and connect the red wire going to the back because it had no power at the red wire on my 7 pin round connector at the back to charge the battery in my dump trailer. THe wire was folded up in the bottom of the fuse box. You have to add a round end connector and put it on a post with a nut and washer. The nut and washer were there but not the connector for the end of the wire.
