Maybe someone can point me in a direction. On occasion the motor will briefly skip. Almsot like you shut the key off and back on for a split second. At about 2500 RPM it acts like a gasser would with a spark plug miss.
I have opened the filter drain at idle and the truck remains running, I have checked both the oil pressure swith and lift pump and they are working. I have also swapped out the fuel filter. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Could be a weak signal from the OPS to LP or a weak LP. LP draws 4 amps and the OPS is rated for 1 amp. HowieE has a schematic for relaying the load from the LP switched by the OPS and others have opted for power to the LP with the key on, no OPS to get in the way.

That description sounds exactly like what my truck did at the beginning of the end of my pmd.
Shuts off and on almost instantaneously, like someone very quickly flipping a switch on and off?

dmitch, that sounds almost exactly like what i am going through right now only mine happens at 1800rpms. i just had to get a new ip so i figured i would splurge and just get all new. new lift new pmd new ops. check out my thread titled (could it be an injector or air?) thought it could be my new pmd so tried my backup and still have problems. dont think i have junk in my lines because they were capped off at ip install and i am not throwing any codes. going to swap out ops tommorow who knows it could be bad right out of the box. if i find the problem i will let you know. if you find problem please post and let me know. who knows could have same problem.

well what do you know, guess i should have left well enough alone. bad ops right out of the box. who woulda thunk it? bought it from local napa dealer and i'm going to return it for a good one hopefully? truck runs like a monster now. wonder how often that happens? who knows maybe some cheapskate cleaned an old one up and returned it to stick it to someone else-like me.

Bowtie - Good news, glad to hear you cured your problem. I think I may have an electrical problem. Today when it began to act up, the low coolant light flashed with the air bag light flashing also. Then cleared right up.

dmitch, check all your grounds real good. ring them out with an ohmmeter. i cant stress that enough. especially if you think it is good it may be broken inside the insulation or oxidized where you cant see it.
