was looking into a supercharger and just wanted to see if anyone has done it and what the results were (hp, torque, gas milage)?

IIRC, member cdhd2001 here at the forums had exactly that set-up.

Yep. I had it supercharged for 8 months. I had tuning issues, bearing issues, belt tension problems, and it still wouldn't tow that well. Mileage was about the same as before, 13.5-14 hwy, 11.5-12 city, 8.5 towing. I liked it and was proud of it, but the 6.0 had the dreaded csk and just wasn't doing what I needed. After my wife and I spent 2 hours on the side of the road trying to trace down a shredded belt and bearing squeal, we decided it just wasn't worth trying anymore. But, if I had not got a killer deal on the Dmax (GMS pricing, rebates, and 0%) I would still have it. The 6.0L are respectable engines, but just don't expect to be a "heavy" hauler.

I had the Powerdyne blower set for 8 psi. boost with Wester's tuning. Great solo, just not worth much towing.

Just my opion/experience.

P.S. I never dynoed it, but the I had a spread sheet showing the hp torque curve stock and then with boost, I believe max hp was 450 and torque about 520.

Look on Procharger's website they have a great system for the 6.0. I installed one on a SS. There was some ecm issues but they were worked out. Dont remember right now but I will find out. It was ran on a mustang dyno and produced 331hp :ro)at the rear wheels. I did it sometime last year so I have forgot a couple of the details. I will get the rest of the info for you tom.

Isn't the SS AWD? How do you do a dyno run? Just curious?

The reason I was thinking about it was to get more power while towing my 5th wheel, but if it didnt help much it probably is'nt worth the money.

i had a whipple on a 6.0 and i didin't have any problems with it i was able to get about 6-7 psi out of it and it was realy nice. i had no problems towing or any thing else.i also got a couple of miles per gallon better i can't remember what i was getting exactly but i know it was better. i just wish i would of kept it on the truck but of course i wanted more power and swaped it out for a big block with an 8.71 blower. now it is just a money pit but looks cool.

Don't buy a powerdyne. I had the same problem, belt shredding, Vibration, and high rpm Detonation. Thats my 2 cents.

My Dmax with J/A level 5 is a full 0.5 sec faster in the quarter than best time slip my supercharged 6.0L had. If the 6.0 is in a half ton, it should be fast. The HD size and drive train really saps the 6.0L.

JMHO.
