I am replacing my dashboard lights- I have power and headlights but everytime I twist the knob to give power to the interior dashboard lights this horrible buzzing sound comes on and does not go away. I have not tried it with the engine running yet- but is this normal? and more to the point how to I stop it?

Thanks,

):h I recently rewired a bunch of stuff in my cab...and then put it back together...and then pulled the lights switch to check everything and this buzzing was there for me too...long story short, the big plug in the back of the instrument panel wasn't in fully and this was making things screw up! I don't know if that is the same problem with yours but maybe you should check your wiring connects, primarily the big plug first! good luck!

What he said... also, if you have a headlight warning buzzer it sounds if the parking lights are on, ignition is off and driver's door is open. (Or if a loose connection makes the truck think that's the case!) Turning the cluster illumination off silences the buzzer, on purpose.
