WOW! We have our own SECTION!? We're in the doghouse now!

First thing I suggest is we all post pictures of our favorite hand or arm scars gotten from working on the engine. :)

Wow! Cool. Since I sold my pick up I only have diesel vans. I had two custom vans back in the 70's during all that free love stuff.Anyone remember the VAN FESTIVALS? I barely do but I do remember getting laid a lot. And you only needed penicillin to get over anything you caught (which I never did). Man, I'm gettin' old.

Here's my two diesel vans. I have a 1999 with 6.5 td with 347K on it. It finally needs a waste gate and turbo. Still pluggin' and the only thing replaced was the tranny at 35,950 miles under warranty. The other one is my 2006 Duramax (LLY) with 52K miles. I tried to find a programmer a while back but didn't have any luck so I gave up. I've had no issues with it yet. It has power windows ,locks, and cruise, chrome package, Adrian Steel interior, 6 disk head unit from my Tahoe and XM, Weather Guard Safari Rack with a custom made diamond plate aluminum deck, Outlaw II wheels and Michelin LTX M/S tires. I average about 18-19 on the hwy and 16-17 running around.

That's a hell of a push bar on that van. I've never seen one of thoses before. I want one. Who makes it? I need some deer protection. I've hit 7 over the years since I moved to WV.

I want the one in the middle :evillol:

I've been thinking about retiring my 2006 van before it gets too many miles on it and making it into a customized camper to travel around in. I want to have a real nice paint job outside and make the interior a custom camper. But I want it to not look like it's a camper.

pmikey,
i assume you meant that you put your stock tahoe stereo in our van, right?
was the stereo upgrade, a simple plug in? were the connectors the same?

Yes, it was plug and play for the install with one exception, I had to have the dealer program it to turn on the internal amp in the head unit. In the Tahoe it used the external Bose amp. The dealer didn't have a clue, I found a guy on line (can't remember where) that told me what to tell the dealer to get it to work. The dealer told me there was no way it would work. Guess what, they were wrong (AGAIN). But they only charged me $35 to program it.
