I am in the process of setting my truck up for a gooseneck. Anyone with a short box ever have any problems with turning or binding?

Depends on how you are set up and how the front of your trailer is designed. If you have a broad square front and you are in front of the axle you will be limited to how far you can go. It doesn't bother me much.

I have a Pace American gooseneck that I tow with a B+W turnover ball. I ordered the trailer with the tapered front so it would have more clearance on turns. Even with the shortbox I can turn pretty sharp (maybe 70-75 degrees) before the trailer gets close to the back window. With a square nosed 102" wide trailer you would have to real carefull when turning and backing up to keep the trailer out of the back window.

My goose nose is tapered from the bulkhead forward. I always watch it when I'm backing cause I don't want to buy a new cab and window. Haven't had a problem yet and have had it pretty tight before. You can measure to some extent; just remember canting between the truck and trailer could change the distance.

I pull a 26' flatbed & a 20' cattle trailer, Neither of which has a square front. I haven't ever got into a bind going forward. Backing up is where you will need to closely monitor that.
