i was reading over the thread posted a few months ago on "how to rebuild your old injectors" and i was thinking about giving it a try. I have a set of injectors off another 6.2 that got junked and i think it was from a van but not totally sure and i wanted to rebuild those first, then remove mine and do the swap. That way there would not be much down time while i try my hand at replacing the nozzles for the first time.
But in the thread it gives the part number for the nozzles for a truck, but it says there is a different part number for a van.
Isn't a 6.2 a 6.2? while would they be different in a van than a truck?
If anyone knows what the part number for the van injector nozzles are i would like to know.
thanks,
paul

does anyone know where to get the bosch injector nozzles? none of the parts places near me have them - and their prices on the complete injectors are like $100/each which makes me think i should look elsewhere.

thanks,
paul

Van injectors were shorter because of the reduced clearance in the doghouse. In later years, short injectors were installed in all the applications, as they were necessary for clearance with the factory turbo setup on the 6.5's. Long and short are interchangeable(except the 1982 coarse thread style) across the range, but you may need to fiddle with bending the injector lines a bit, depending on which way your going.

Auto Zone has complete injectors for around $55.00 each, no core. Couldnt say what brand nozzles are in them however. Do a google for the bosch nozzles, I know vendors have them available out there, including the marine style.

I still have the Bosch short nozzles, the vendor sent me the wrong ones and then I sent them back and they got returned so I didn't want to ship them again to the venders strange "drop shipper" address. Make me an offer I you want.

so is it only the injector body that is different or are the nozzles different was well?

Nozzles are physically shorter as well.
