well i ordered rancho rs9000x shocks and they got list in the mail. so stupid me went ahead and lifted my truck anyways. the lift went surprisingly well and easy. i thought it was very simple and was over rated on the toughness of it your self. well i did the lift and it was very simple but man does the ride suck! you feel every little bump on the road. big bumps you dont notice. little ones are very harsh.

i am praying that the new shocks will help out the ride. i will even put doubble shocks if i got to. i wil do just about anything except get a real lift( i want a better back up truck before i spend that kind of money on my truck)

so does any one know for sure if shocks will help the ride?

How did you lift the truck. Did you just crank the torsion bars? How much? If you crank them up too far, you will have no downward travel left and that will hurt your ride. If you crank them enough to get about 2" your ride will a little spongier , but nice and can be firmed with the RS9000x. I don't think double shocks is ever the answer unless you are running something like a 44 inch tire. A single RS9000 has enough adjustment for almost everybody. But if you have the torsion bars cranked too far, no shock will solve the problem.

I believe a lot of that harshness you're seeing is from the green keys. I believe they index the torsion bars quite alot more than stock to achieve the lift. I'm sure someone will chime in...

I have the rancho 9000 adjustable and have them set on 3 all the way around and I aired the tires down to 50 psi when not towing. The ride is much better. You will have to experiment with the settings on the shocks until you find the ride you like

Your stock shocks are out of their sweet spot. Aftermarket ones operate in a wider range. I'm cheap and made 1" spacers. The new Cognito setup has new longer brackets. You should be fine once the Ranchos arrive. Until then hang on...literally.

ya i ordered longer shocks but i dont know when their gona be hear. i was hopeing today like they said but i gues not. i realize my stock shocks are usless right now and dont do a thing for the truck. i just wanted to know if the shocks will help. heck if they help out a little i will be happy. as long as it takes the little bumps better. the truck is bad right now. it does handle better but it still rides like a ford.

I have a 04 HD CC. 2" lift keys and just installed the Rancho 9000 this morning. I only noticed a little better ride. I have the rears on 3 and front on 6, for now.
