The Racor frame mounted filter evidently is doing it's job details here http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15002, I pulled my engine mounted one prior to the dyno run this weekend, even though my vac switch did not indicate I needed to; no crud in the filter, if you look close you can even see daylight in the pleats still. The egnine bay filter is 5 micron, the racor I use as a primary is a 10, I found out that WIX makes the same elememt but rated for 12 micron, I also found out by accident this is the same filter Ford uses on it's truck. This filter had 15K on it, I'll pull apart the Racor & post it's innards at a later date.

last time i pulled my filter, i took a vacuum cleaner and sucked out all the sediment that had settled in the bottom of the filter bowl.

No sediment in bowl either
