I have been doing some searches here about DSE, Biodiesel and WVO. I am new to this and have some questions.

There are people running their Duramax on a filtered WVO tank mounted in the bed, you start the truck on diesel and switch it over to WVO.
There are some running on filtered WVO that is just blended in their tank with diesel 50/50 mix.
There are some running on biodiesel that uses methanol and lye.
And then you have the DSE “Snake Oil” A friend of mine ordered the book and I was reading it but other than adding some chemicals I don’t see much difference between this and the first 2 options. If you use the DSE system and you would leave out the gas and snake oil wouldn’t it be a lot like the first 2. I am not talking running it 100% but you could run it 50/50 so that it would be thin enough for you IP?
Please add your comments to this as I am going crazy. I have been looking at these systems and don’t know which one to go with. I know this has been beaten to death but I am tired of paying $4.20 per gallon so OPEC and EXXON can keep breaking record profits!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only speak about the biodiesel and the methanol and lye. You use the lye to replace the glycerin in the wvo with methanol to make it into biodiesel. There should be no lye left in the mix. And if you run straight wvo, you do have to start and stop your engine on diesel fuel or you risk gumming everything up with the wvo in your fuel lines, pump, filter, etc. DSE is pure garbage. Do a search here. A waste of money and can possibly do a lot of damage to the engine.

I would recommend for sure going with biodiesel. There is nothing that you need to modify on your truck to run bio. Biodiesel is a proven fuel and I think it would be the best choice for use in the Duramax since it has a high pressure common rail fuel system.
