:help2:I was sticking my head under the hood of my 94 "s" 6.5 and found the wastegate control rod was broken at the turbo (vacuum control). I used this as a good excuse to tell the wife "I need a new part for the blazer". So I want to order the turbo master control from heath but have a few questions since they wont be open for orders till monday.

1. What do I do with the vacuum hose that goes to the old control housing?
2. Is the mechanical turbo master a direct replacement for the vacuum control?
3. How do I get the rod end off the turbo side of the gate?
4. How will I know where to set the spring tension?

These are all the questions I could think up for now. Plus any install advised would be of help.

i plugged mine off with a machine screw. heaths gives you a rough length etimate on how far to turn the nut. hopefully you have a boost gauge. if not get one. Ed

1. They provide you with a little ball to stick in the vacuum hose.
2. Once you install the TurboMaster there will be no need for the vacuum pump unless you have an EGR engine because vacuum still controls the EGR.
3. There is a little "C" clip that is on the back of the rod that you take off. (explained in the instructions :D )
4. I hope you have a boost guage, needed if you wanna go this route. I have mine set at 2" and my max boost is set at 12 psi. (also explained in instructions)

ok...thanks for the advice. I will need to get a boost guage then and it is an "s" engine so I do need to keep tha vacuum pump. But in the future I will change this engine to "f". I will start a thread for when that time comes. Or just read the threads about how to flash engine to "f"
