how many different starters are there for a 6.5? Mine is on its last leg and the wreckers are comming up with 2 different numbers, what are the differences?

On my H1, I've used two different starters - the large weather sealed starter that's about 80lbs, and the small gear reduction starter that's all of 15lbs.

As far as I know, the non-Hummer starters are basically the same.

i was under impression that there were two types: (I)With , and (II)Without reduction gear. A rebuilder told me that the Nipondenso/gear-reduction model that mine came with was a very fine unit.
Smaller/lighter starters tend to feature 'rare earth' permanent magnet field magnets (rather than the traditional field-coil windings).
