I tried to upload the stock tune on my 08 LMM and the EFI LIVE doesnt try and license the pcm, it just starts reading it. All of my other trucks told me I had to license the pcm before it would read it. Anyone have any ideas ??

Oh yea im using the V7.4

Uploading a tune is a freebie, no license needed. When you go to download a tune, thats when you'll need to license the cable to the ecm.

When it does read it, it wont display the tune. Let me go try it again so I can tell you exactly what it says

After its done reading a screen pops up and says unrecognised PCM this version of EFI live tuning tool has not been configured to display this PCM's operating system. I thought it might have been because it isnt licensed but I guess not :o:

I dont know. It wont display the tune it reads off the truck. Is there another way to find out what os it is

You need to upgrade your version of efi live. v7.4 doesn't have all the updated cals and bins needed to read 08 ecm's.

:lol: Ok so what do I need to do to upgrade. Do I have to save all of my tunes in another folder, put the stock tunes back on the truck. Or is it as simple as just hooking the EFI live to the computer and upgrading. Thanks for all your help

Simple upgrade is all you need. The 'documents' side of EFILive (where your files are saved) should not be affected by the upgrade.
