I don't trust that and I don't trust ebay. (just imho)

As I heard before, you pay for what you get for.

I understand some folks on here are using an off-brand exhaust and are doing well.

i bought one for a friend for his lly, it pretty much looked like it was for another truck. we almost send it back, but we hacked it up and got it to work. he had a regular cab though. mine is a summit 4" and didnt fit the best but nothing like what my friend had to go through. before we put it on, just looking at it i liked it, and wanted to see if i could get another one. i got that one for around 300 or so. i asked him how much for just that and he said 425 + shipping. talked to him some more and what i found out is that its better to talk to the kid than the old man! as you can see they are still selling them cheaper on ebay. i even tried to ask who made them and he wouldnt tell, but i did find out its a diamond eye

Does Dmax really need a 5" exhaust? Is there credible gains over the 4" ones out there?

No gains over 4in. .....other than louder and they do look pretty cool. In fact sometimes you lose some power on the bottom end.

From what I gather, there are no measurable gains from the 5" systems. Personally, I just wanted the biggest I could find that went the closest to the engine with the big pipe.

The fit was fine, but the fact that it is a 5" pipe means you need to get it aligned just right to miss everything. I had to bump it around several times before I tightened the clamps to get it to miss everything. Even so, the rear hanger clamp will bump the stock spare a little. I probably could have kept at it and made it miss, but I was at my quiting point.

i have 5" on my truck and like what fingers said you have to have it just right to make it not hit anything. i like it because it is different then everone else.

The low end power loss is from lack of backpressure with not enough power to push the exhaust along on the lowend. A muffler of some sort should help this. At least this is how I understand it.

I dont believe back pressure issues are relevant with turbo motors

Isn't there enough low end power as is?
