When I replace my stock fuel filter, do I need to get it from the GM house or can I just pick one up at any parts store. Is there a certain brand I need to stay away from or one I need to lean to. Thanks in advance

I like WIX filters or Napa gold filters which can be bought at NAPA or a local parts store.

There use to be tests run buy the trucking magazines, the best were the Baldwin, Fleetguard and AC Delco, the worst was Fomoco. Personally I would go with one of the best. PLAY SAFE!

In the last year I switched from Baldwin (I wanted to see if there was any fallout because they switched to China for the fuel filter; they're probably ok) . . . but anyway, I switched to Napa.

So far, I'm impressed with the Napa/Wix oil and fuel filters (although I haven't actually mounted the fuel filter yet).

I have some concern about the transmission filter and the magnet covering the holes (I put a small spacer between the magnet and holes). Others don't have this concern and say they haven't had any problems.

I once needed an oil filter and got it at the Napa store, and then ordered more from Fleet Filter (a DP vendor) and they are about half the price from Fleet.

X2 on fleet filters. IIRC it comes out to $22 a piece for the Napa golds.
