I've got a problem(http://www.gm-diesel.com/diesel/vbull/showthread.php?t=12108 to see the problem) with my Duramax. I've done alot reading on these sites and looks like it can be the injector tube seals or more likely heat gaskets. My biggest problem is my dealer(where I bought) has fought me tooth and nail over any service work. So I'm trying to do my homework this time. I've come across a couple TSB's that I would like to see:
<TABLE class=table-header-alt2 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="70%">Component Description:

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
<TABLE class=table-header-alt2 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=3 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="70%">Component Description:

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I have seen the latter of these TSB's but with clickable links that I can't access.
Any help or ideas about my problem or how to handle my "dear ol dealer" are very much welcome.
Everybody here is doing a great service and been very helpful...thanks again

The link you posted wont load.
And the 2 you posted are not GM bulletin numbers.

Yea, those numbers are not GM number but here is one the bulletins I think they are refering to. The other one I can't find but I think I remember an info bulletin that came out with the first duramaxes that explained the different choices of head gaskets.

Engine Coolant Loss with No Visible Leaks (Reseal Injector Sleeve) #03-06-02-005B - (Nov 18, 2004)
Engine Coolant Loss with No Visible Leaks (Reseal Injector Sleeve)
2001-2004 Chevrolet Silverado

2001-2004 GMC Sierra

2003-2004 Chevrolet and GMC C4500/5500 Models

with 6.6L Diesel Engine (VIN1 - RPO LB7)

This bulletin is being revised to add technician cautions. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-06-02-005A (Section 06-Engine).

Condition

Some owners may comment on engine coolant loss with no visible leaks. Excessive white smoke or a coolant type odor coming from the exhaust pipe, along with low coolant levels, may indicate coolant in the combustion chamber.

Cause

Condition may be caused by engine coolant entering the cylinder due to a dirty or damaged seal between the fuel injector sleeve and the cylinder head.

Engine Cooling Problem
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I have a 2001 Chevy Duramax/Allison 2500HD with 80K on it. On a recent trip the heater stopped working (no heat) and the temp. gauge was reading lower than normal. My thought was that the themostat had stuck open. Wanting to make sure things were ok under the hood I stopped and looked. I found that coolant was leaking from the recovery tank and that the top radiator hose was rock hard. After letting engine cool for 30 min. it seemed the system still had alot of pressure as I slowly removed the cap. Needing to get home I refilled the system, started the engine, and refilled again. As I drove I thought that something was causing the coolant to maybe boil out of the engine and cause the hard hose and coolant out of the recovery tank. But everything was working fine again including the heater. Well, for about 30 mins. then problems returned again. Stopped again and decided to take the themostat out and try that. Removing the cover I find I have 2 themostats. Now I'm really confused. What are the chances of both going bad at once? Removed them anyway and refilled the system. No more problems (200 miles) and got home.
I ordered new themostats and continued to drive locally for 10 days til themostats came in. I installed themostats and drove 15 to 20 min. on the highway and problems returned again. So now I'm thinking waterpump or worst, head gasket or head. But to me a head or gasket leaking compression into the cooling system would do so with or without the themostats? I've removed the belt and feel no play in the pump shaft or bearing and on coolant leak within the waterpump. I'm also wondering if the impeller could be bad? Could the waterpump be just good enough to move the coolant with no themostats? One other thing I have learned is that I put the wrong anti-freeze in the engine about a year ago. And have noticed a black film in the recovery tank which makes me wonder, black plastic impeller? Themostat gaskets/o-rings?
I've found this forum trying to find answers but have not seen this problem decussed. Any thoughts or ideas are more than welcome. I hate to put alot of money in the wrong direction. And from what I have read there are alot of you smarter than me.
Thanks again so much

Guys

Is there a TSB that covers headgaskets/heads? I just want to be "armed" when I hit the dealership. Thanks
