While trying to get my PCM udated with the latest reflash the tech that was doing the work said, that because my Aftermaket DVD system was drawing too much power (while turned off), the PCM was showing errors and did not accept any programing changes. I had the dvd totally dissconnected and they still had a problem while trying to upload the new PCM calibrations. I have never used a power enhancer of any kind, chip or tuner. When the tehnician called the GM tech line the first assumption was that I had tried to use a tuner. So when I left the dealer they said that they were going to order a new PCM. Have any of you had any issues with using a tech 2 to update the PCM? Are there any tricks of the trade that maybe the technician at my dealer might be over looking? Is it possible to have a faulty PCM and the truck still be able to drive o.k.?

Thanks for any help

Have had that issue a couple times. Usually its a tech II that is not up to date in software. I am not at work and cant recall the latest version number.
