I went to the dealer to have my PCM reflashed with the latested updates and the technician said that the truck would not take the program because I had a after market DVD system installed. So I had to go and get the DVD dissconnected. After that the PCM still would not accept the updated program, kept giving error codes when trying to download. So after eight hours of diagnosis They decided to order a new PCM and replce it. Anyone out the ever here of such a thing?

I had the same problem and it ended up be a viedo game system hooked up to my viedo system that was causing the problem. They said it messed up my PCM and it cost me a total of $1,100.00 by the time it was all done:cool: . I don't think just a DVD player would be the cause in your case.

:joke:  :funnypost

I just came from my stealer and a similiar prob. I took the truck in for the new steering shaft problem and told them to check the pcm program to make sure it was the latest. Calls back and says the pcm is bad and will order a new one. Gets the new one in and says it wont take a program. Will order another one and try it. Wont be in til next week. Will let ya know......He put the old one back in and I drove it home........Thought he said it was bad??????????

what could the dvd/stereo systems be doing that causes the ECU not to make connectivity with the host computer??

can't be signals so it must be voltage or some draw... very strange, please keep us posted I am very curious about this.
