My 6.5 will randomly stall out. It mostly do it after idling for a little bit like at a stop light then when i start to go again it will stall out. After stalling out it takes a bit to get it started again. If somone could lend me some knowledge it would be greatly appreciated.

Start with the diagnostic check list and fill out your signature, with year, model and any mods this aids in trouble shooting.

Here's the link to the diag checklist: http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42248
signature link: http://dieselplace.com/forum/profile.php?do=editsignature

Post the results of the check list in your post.

Today i hooked a scaner up to her and there was a couple of codes
1: P1216 Fuel solenoid responce time to short
2: P0380 Glow plug/heater Circuit problem

would one of these couse the stalling?

Try pouring tap water over the PMD. This might be mounted on the left side of the injection pump if everything is stock. It's black and the size of a deck of playing cards. Depending on the year of the truck believe it or not the injection pump and driver might still be under warranty. (11 years/120,000 miles)

Make sure it's got a little ice in it. If it starts back up and runs like normal for a while then the PMD (or FSD) is the problem. At that point do a little background reading here in the FAQs section and you'll learn all about what's going on.

So you know, the PMD is Pump Mounted and the FSD is the PMD usually attached to a heat sink and placed somewhere else in the engine compartment.

Good Luck

Don't know what year you got, but here is the reference material from the GM manuals for a 97 for your two codes.
Not sure if the codes will cause stalling. The manual doesn't mention it for the two codes or the third (P0219) associated with P1216.
Good Luck

X2 on the PMD and Ice water, that's what we'd tell 6.5er's that stall out when they are headed to the shop when I worked there. Things get hot, solder connection comes undone, and it's like turning the key off. While shut down, it cools, connection goes back, and you can restart.
