I've been reading all the posts about the programers which lead me to buy the Predator. My question is does it have any long term effects on the engine?

as for engine, it all depends on how you drive it, how you maintain it, how good is the fuel you put in it etc...

Other than that, the added power will make it work more efficiently, which can help prolong the life of it or even shorten it. One will never know as it all depends on situations and elements. But there are plenty of folks that have several miles on thier trucks with the mods on them. It just matters how comfortable you are with it.

Mods have More of effect on transmission, than engine.

Welcome to the site MEANMAX! I do alot of work on the North Fork. You should be fine with 100 HP or less, if you don't go crazy.:exactly:

Thanks guys for the replys.Next question, the Predator manual says it strongly recommends the use of larger diameter exhaust and EGT gauge.I'm installing the EGT gauge this week, as for the exhaust I'll have to wait to get some more cash(Banks catback 4 inch).Plan on running the 65 tune untill then. Do you think that I'll have any problems with this?Jim659 I'll be looking for your rig,I'm sure it's not hard to miss.

Nope. Running the 65hp tune, you should be fine with the stock items. I have guages coming in sometime next week and I will install them then. I have yet to do something with the exhaust. I want to remove the cat as it is a big restricter. Unless you remove the cat, you won't see big decreases in EGTs. I don't know what your emissions testing is in your state, but you may get a downpipe from an 01-03 model and they will bolt right up. That way you can place the old one, with the cat, on whenever you go for testing.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks again.I'm putting the gauge in this week and i'm going to run it without the tune just to see what the readings are. After I install the tune I'll report back with the temps before and after.
