Please help i have a 2002 duramax 128k miles, when i get all the way into the trottle like when passing at a high rpm the engine starts smoking black and the truck just falls on it face no power it loses speed like its running out of air, air filter is ok though.

Sounds like a fuel filter to me.

Changed fuel filter still same problem. Any one else have any ideals?

Black smoke is a sign of poor combustion. Could be a rail pressure issue or an injector issue. :confuzeld

Search "CP3", "FPR", and "injectors".

Could be sign of an injector stuck open, which can burn a piston.

Any other symptoms?

Took it to a local shop and put on a scanner at it says number 4 cylinder miss fire.

Did they check the electrical harness to that injector?

when my engine did that the tech replaced 22 gaskets and seals that had dried out and were leaking air and was in both the fuel and air suppy 72 mph was tops before the work and that was with it "cutting out"

no he did not check the harness but i will today. I can still run 80 mph still with a tractor and trailer on it, just cant cant get to 80 in a hurry.
