Is anyone running this lift? I see the benefits it has over just cranking torsion bars (like I have now), but it still maintains the harsh front axle and cv joint angles doesn't it???? Price is sure nice though, hahah.

Thanks for the insight

Okay, I really like the way all these rigs with cognitos leveling kit look, especially with the dual shock kit. My concern is what keeps the suspension from cycling to far downward...in other words, won't the cv joints get over extended since there is nothing to limit how far they will extend...like hitting a really deap hole, or articulating over uneven terrain, jumping, ect. Can anyone shed some light? I didn't see where the kit came with any limiter straps or something of the sort. Thanks for the help.

J-Heff,

I am installing the Kit this coming Friday with the dual shock kit and the steering component upgrade. I will be able to tell you the difference. I just installed a Reunel frontend replacement and Warn M15000 winch. So far with the torsion bars cranked it has been just fine(I cranked them 7 turns about 30K miles back). I am not worried about the CV angle. They are built to function at angles. I do not off road where I would really send the suspension into full travel. I really want the dual shock set up without having to add a full lift kit.

duramax dually,

I agree with you about CV's lasting, I had a 98 halfton that went 145,000 (mostly off road) miles and never really had a problem. My concern is the will just be allowed to travel too far downward, which could be easily done in the conditions I'm in most of the time, and I'm not sure if the CV's can take that stress or not. I would love to see a picture of your vehicle though. I'm with you, I really have no desire to install a 4 or 6 inch lift, for the fact it costs a lot and the other duramax we have thats lifted isn't holding up worth a damn (pickups good, lift isn't.) I just want to be able to run 33's or 35's on 17's one of these days with no rubbing problems. Anyway, thanks for your input, look forward to seeing some pics!:cool2:

Anyone out there that uses this lift and goes off-road a lot??? Still worried about those CV angles.
