Got a warranty replacement of my SureSet compressor system. They upgraded me to the New Wireless Air system.

I can't believe all the wiring I pulled out. The Sureset had a ton of wires. The New Wireless Air System is much more simple.

I love the pre-sets on the controller (remote). Now I can pull up to the trailer and press the pre-set and work on loading while it brings the air pressure up. No more holding down the buttons while the compressor is working.

Let me know if you have any questions about the installation.

DuneMe760 on Glamis Dunes. Not on there that much. We live about 11 hours from Glamis so, only make it down there once a year.

Yes, the Wireless Air is the new SureSet.

It is real nice having two pre-sets. One for towing and one for empty. I'll set them then just press the pre-set for whatever condition I'm in.

They upgraded me to the New Wireless Air system.

I would be curious to know if this system will work off a tank rather than the compressor?

Matt:

System is designed to operate off a compressor but, I don't see any reason you couldn't fool it. . .

First some basic controls. . .

If you have an onboard air system you have a closed-loop control of a pressure switch on the tank that activates a relay to turn on/off the pump to maintain the pressure in the tank. THIS you don't want to mess with. It provides safety for your system.

The Wireless air system activates a relay that turns on the compressor and off the compressor to feed air into the manifold that feeds your airbags.

In theory, you need a solenoid valve wired into where the pump for the Wireless Air is wired. The Relay would open the solenoid valve feeding air from your onboard air system instead of turning on a compressor. So, you still turn on air. . . in a sense. . . you are now just turning on the air by opening a solenoid valve from your on-board air system instead of activating a compressor dedicated to your air-bags.

I can't say I've tried this out but, I see no reason it shouldn't work just fine. I don't know why the air-bag companies don't offer these instructions on their websites (I've been unable to find them in the past.)

Let us know if you try it and how it works.

Matt:I don't know why the air-bag companies don't offer these instructions on their websites (I've been unable to find them in the past.) Same here, I have a wireless system ready to install and when I ordered it I missed the possibility of incompatibility with an existing system. I was going to do the install this weekend but will wait now and confirm with AirLift.

Your theory makes perfect sense to simply replace the compressor with an air solenoid spliced between the tank and wireless manifold. If so I will need to source out an additional part to make it work or I could install the supplied compressor and isolate it from the existing one.
Using my already existing tank and better compressor makes more sense to me.

Let us know if you try it and how it works.I set it up just the way you mentioned and it all works well. Thanks a bunch for the helpful info!!

Glad to hear it worked out for you Matt.

You should shoot some pictures of the installation and post them up. I can see changing out my system to what you've done so I could have on-board air on the truck.

I've been thinging about putting air on my trailer too. Guess I could use the compressor for the on-board air I currently have on my trailer and get a bigger one for the truck that I could use to air-up tires, etc.

You should shoot some pictures of the installation and post them up.This one shows the wireless manifold on the left, the relay mounted to it is supplied in the kit and intended to run the compressor. To the right is the Asco NC valve I used in place of the compressor. Sorry for the Dodge pic
The air inlet to the valve goes to my PacBrake tank, the compressor mounts near the valve cover which is all Dodge specific stuff.

That valve set up is perfect. Can I was where it was purchased? Anything special to the set up?

I bought the valve here. (http://www.airridefittings.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=48_7_142&products_id=824)
They also have the fittings that go in the ends to convert from 1/4" npt to push-loc for the plastic line.
Nothing special other than that if you already have an air source.

Great Set Up. How much pressure are you running in you PacBrake tank?

I don't have a gauge on the tank supply but it should be 100-120 psi

Are the presets strictly pressure or is there some other level sensing system? I'm thinking of using it on the TrailAir axle system on my trailer.

Pressure pre-sets. . . nothing sensing the level of the rig.

Some use a linkage off the axel or leaf-spring.

Some use a linkage off the axel or leaf-spring.True, but the wireless system (http://www.airliftcompany.com/WirelessAIR.html) is just pressure.
