anyone try putting the winter cover on a 2005 gmc p/u yet and if so did you have to modify the bumper any

This may not help but I tossed the bumper cover and just use grill cover. Works just great even at -25. No problems with it getting hot enough, even when going down the highway

I have an 04 GMC and only use the grill cover. I have no problems warming the truck up even when its well below zero outside.

The bumper cover is for blocking off the vents that cool the trans and should only be used in the most extreme cold situations. I've never needed to used it. If you do make certain you closely watch your trans temp guage.

provided this pic post works notice the beige truck(04) and the dark gray truck(05) how the corners of the bumper are different which causes the winter cover not to fit
