I have a 2007.5 Chev Silverado HD2500 4x4 crewcab, all stock. Awhile back I installed heavy rubber splash guards on my front wheel wells but had to remove them. Everytime I turned the wheel over hard the tire would rub on the bolt heads attaching the splash guards. Recently I decided to install the Chevy molded splash guards figuring they ought to fit my vehicle okay. Not! Immediately I had a problem turning the wheel over hard and the tire rubbing on the bolt heads. It seems to me that this is damned tight tolerance if the tire rubs on a bolt head that is protruding maybe 3/8" into the wheel well. Has anybody else experienced this? I'd really like to have my front splash guards to keep the running boards clean. But getting in and out of parking spaces has become problematic when I have front splash guards attached.
