hey all, is a polished turbo worth the coin?

i found some on ebay for about $300 all nice and shiny

what is the benefit on using a polished turbo?

what should i be looking for when picking one out?

Only benefit is the eye candy, but they are nice to look at ;)

ive been told that they are like porting and polishing heads. the only thing i can see that would benefit anything is to smooth the air intake......the inside of the turbo seems to be where the work would be......the outise being polished is as you said....eye candy!

are most of the polished turbos actually polished on the inside?

the reason i ask is i bought one about 2 weeks ago for a shop down the road from me for some wok on another project i have going, and i did not see on this where the inside was polished to make an effect....and that was about $350!

Guys,

I would venture a guess and say at only a couple hundred dollars they are just that eye candy... if you go to a reputible dealer like kennedy diesel and check out the prices for his turbos.. new oem is $875 and a remain is $600... half the cost and pollished inside and out...

I kinda doubt it...

Heard a quote once can't polish a turd, gm-X series turbos for 6.5 are what they are, not much bang for buck trying to make them do more.

Do you buy everything on ebay?

Just wondering because I just searched 6.5L on ebay and you have pretty much the exact same things.

yes, sometimes i get ebay stuff, and other times i get parts direct from other dealers.

kinda sounds like the polished turbo is not worth it!
