hey guys,

i just changed my transmission fluid. i drained and then remove the pan i couldnt believe how much fluid was still in there. but anyway i also changed the pan filter to which means i drained it also. now i am doing this in my driveway with the front tires only on ramps, which means i dont have anything fancy to work with (my way of saying i didnt measure the amount of fluid i removed). i put 7qts. backin and checked it was low so i kept adding. when i finised i had added 10 qts. and am just below the full hot upper mark. i thought it would only hold 71/2 qts. i drove it again tonight to double check and the level is just below the upper mark on the hot scale. did i do something wrong? i also went back with mobil 1 syn. atf. dogboy

I don't want to freak you out but when the trans is cold the fluid mark on mine is pretty near the cold mark. Trans fluid expands alot with heat so make real sure that you didn't overfill it.

i did drive the truck approx. 30 miles so i am sure the tranny was worm enough to check hot. it got up to approx. 140*. that is when i check it and it was just below the highest mark of the hot scale. dogboy
