We had a thread and poll on the 01-02 HDs vs. the '03 Chevy frontend but nothing comparing the Chevy to the updated GMC.

Let's hear everyone's opinion and (wink, wink) no biased opinions (wink, wink)

Now if I could only have the GMC grill with Chevy hood and headlights -- I like the Chevy except for the chrome bar that spans the middle of the grill.

The front bumper and fog lights on the GMC looks better as well, but that all needs to be replaced w/ a real bumper anyway...

I'm driving a GMC but will admit the Chev looks tough once you put some meats under it.

I like the GMC grill better....I should I own onehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

But with that being said I think the pics of the Chevy lifted 6" or 8" look bitch. The little chevy trucks sitting low to the ground just don't do it for me. Also the Chevy dually looks good...again the new front end with beef!

I am a long time F**d guy and I will say these trucks have grown on me.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Hey, Couldn't ya find an HD pic. I know that it serves the purpose of this post but...... This is a new 1500 crew cab short box(68.5" box=143.5" wheel base)http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado/multimedia/halfton/images/graphic_home.jpg

LOL Thank you Buck. I am well aware that is the new 1500 Crew Cab. I was too lazy to search the net and all the pictures on the Chevrolet website were in multimedia format.

I definitely think the Chevy looks better lifted but we've got 2 GMCs in the family and they look so 'refined'. Tough choice http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif Edited by: y2kboti

Stock height, definitely the GMC. When they're lifted, the GMC looks classy while the Chevy looks tough. It's a toss up, IMHO.

Like my 2003 2500 HD DA GMC better, but I had to pay about $1K more for it than the Chev.

Well, I admit that the Chevy looks better in person than it did in the early, pre-introduction pictures. So, I made the choice to wait the extra time it took for my dealer to order me a GMC. No regrets. Even though I don't think the Chevy is ugly, I still like the GMC better.

Actually bought the chev first, kinda liked the new style, but I didn't like the way the hood looked from the drivers seat. Took it back and got the GMC, same color and options. Like the all red chev taillights better though!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

The 2" gap above the bumper on the GMC looks horrible. You would think the designers/ engineers could have done something better than that.

I vote for the cheapest one and the best deal. well that's what happens when you are graduating and don't have any money. In all seriousness, I think the Chevy is nice looking in some colors and GMC in others, it really depends I think.

01's & 02's are a toss-up, 03's and up it's GMC all the way!

thats my 2 cents

The chevy wouldn't look so bad in front if the fender well to light area had something besides a big flat panel.

The Chevy needs the corner turns to shorten up that distance.

I got an 04 Chevy and GMC on order (nice dealer) he said the Chevy will come in first but I'll wait and save the best for last

I like both the CHEVYhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif and the GMChttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif I only had one choice and I picked the CHEVY. I do think both trucks are missing something which I have a quick $500.00 solution for and should be receiving in January.

I was torn between the GMC or Chevy for weeks before I ordered a new 2500 HD 4x4 last Saturday.

I think the GMC looks more classy while the Chevy looks like it could kick some a$$. So....Chevy gets my vote. Only because the front bumper on the GMC looks out of place to me. I do wish Chevy would paint the plastic like the GMC.

My 2 younger sons both have 2001 pichups one a GMC and the other a Chevy. The one with the GMC is always rubbing it in he has a professional grade pickup!!!! I personally think the GMC front end look the best.

I like the 01-02 Chevys, but for 03 it's GMC all the way. The new Chevy's growing on me though. I wanna know way we can't get this color though...

I'm OK with the Chevy looking STRAIGHT on from the front, they do look pretty mean! But the curve the Chevy has up by the headlights looking from the side.....Just looks out of place. I feel that the GMC wins here.

Cast my vote for Chevy. I do agree the GMC's look more sophisticated, but that's not why I have a truck. I don't like the painted lower valance on the GMC, as I think it makes front end look more prone to scratches or chips. To me, even without big meats, the Chevy's look bold and sharp at the same time.

I agree with lawn boy, the gmc looks better, which is why I bought one. However, I can attest to what bowtiebob says about the painted valance. Mine is scratched and people want to back into it all the time. I'm looking at road armors bumper. Let them scratch that!
