We use the above engine in UK Railroad applications on its side, believe USA use is in big earth movers where the engine is mounted vertically.
We suffer from very heavy crankcase pressures resulting in lub oil discharge(11,000hrs running +) - engine change out is around 16,000hrs.

Have any of you chaps had similar problems and what was the corrective action.
Cummins UK are very retisant to acknowlege a problem!!
