So i think the felt lining on the inside guide that runs across the top of the door panel is scratchin the HECK out of my window tint. i just had the tint redone and i thought maybe it was jsut some dirt in there cause it would scratch it almost all the way across. So i cleaned it and sure enough i roll it down once and i can already start to see some small scratches. do i just need that whole weather strip part that has the guide in it or could it be something else?

No, there's deffinatly a burr or some fine dirt in there. Tint isn't that easy to scratch under normal conditions.

Watch the whole door flex when you put the window up one time. It would be sweet if you could get replacement glass tinted like it comes from the factory between the panes.
You could put me down for drivers and passenger side

when i tint windows that have scratched or have a common problem with it i put some felt on the rubbers or over the old felt i have not had a problem on the chevys but it is an easy fix the soft part of the valcro works as well if you cant find any felt

I would think that the quality of your tint would have something to do with that and trust me there are some chitty manufacturers out there. I have never had tint scratch that easy but I have always use LLumar tint on my vehicles and boats

Mine too. In my case it was from some DUMB-BASS rolling down the windows at the sand dunes (yeah..it was me). Now I need to get it re-done. This time it gonna be Limo all around ! :iamwithst

i know its not that because it started to do it well after i got the windows tinted. Its probably from the sand at the Dunes or some mud or something but like i said, i THOROUGHLY cleaned the guides

its true that your chaper tint will scratch easyer but they all will i use solar gard and it can happen
as for the felt i get it from my solargard guy in a roll but like i said before u can use velcro the soft part ti works pretty good and sticks better than the felt i use

well i did a little experiement of myself. i took the inside guide off the top again and if you look at it there are two parts to it. I decidied to try cutting off the second stiffer part of it  (nothin to lose since i was gunna buy a new one anyhow). the window does not rattle when rolled down nor does it scratch anymore. now i can see some dirt getting down to the inside of the door but i already had dirt down there to begin with so ill see how this works out but so far it has been a great mod! :D
