Info - Parts Restriction on Duramax Diesel Fuel Injectors #04-06-04-087 - (Dec 1, 2004)
Parts Restriction on Duramax™ Diesel Fuel Injectors
2004-2005 Chevrolet Silverado, Kodiak C4500/5500 Series

2004-2005 GMC Sierra, TopKick C4500/5500 Series

with 6.6L Duramax™ Diesel Engine (VIN 2 -- RPO LLY)

Important: This parts restriction program should not be confused with an earlier Duramax™ diesel (RPO LB7) restriction program. The earlier program corresponds with Corporate Bulletin Number 04-06-04-007C.

The Duramax™ diesel fuel injectors that are being returned have had a very high No Trouble Found (NTF) rate on the vehicles listed above. These injectors have been placed on a restriction program, effective November 15, 2004. This only involved one part number for the vehicle. Have your diesel technician do a thorough diagnosis, using Service Information (SI) procedures. Using the SI procedures can prevent the unnecessary replacement of components.

You must fill out the diagnostic worksheet found at the end of this bulletin prior to contacting the PQC.

The injectors in this restriction program will follow the normal Warranty Parts Center (WPC) parts return process, as outlined in Corporate Bulletin Number 99-00-89-019B (in Canada, Home Office Letter 1999-201). Please include the diagnostic worksheet with the injector when you return it to the WPC. DO NOT SHIP ANY PARTS TO THE WPC WITHOUT AN OFFICIAL WPC REQUEST.

to avoid unneccessary replacement by poor diagnostics.
