: Suncoast Open House Preparations
BMDMAX 02-03-2005, 10:37 AM I rolled in to FWB late Tuesday night. I got the 02 to the shop at 8 AM Wednesday morning. Up on the lift and the tranny was out in about an hour and a half. We also cut and inspected the converter. After 200 1/4 mile passes and 40 plus of those on big nitrous shots it was perfect. I did have a few hot spots on the trans clutches but after two years and 30,000 miles of daily abuse I am very satisfied. The tranny goes up on the bench for inspection and disassembly. By lunchtime it was rebuilt and ready to rock as a Stage V.
By the afternoon is was road ready and we started testing. This tranny continues to impress me and the Suncoast team just flat out rocks. The LLY is up on the lift right now getting the good stuff.
I can't say it enough, no matter what BS goes on in the forum on all the tranny threads that it is worth the trip to a major transmission shop. These guys know their stuff, Joe knows the parts and pieces of all these trannys down to the last detail and goes through the upgrade with you step-by-step so that you understand what is going on. Great to work with, exceptionally knowledgeable and a great host. :ro)
Hopefully we will see some good numbers out of the LB7 and the LLY this weekend. :cool2:
Dmax Tim 02-03-2005, 01:43 PM Well Brandon, are u going to bring both trucks to TiI?
What power did u add to the LLY?
BMDMAX 02-03-2005, 03:36 PM I don't know if I am doing TiI this year or not as I am working on going to the Weekend on the Edge. Both are major hauls, I have to see what I can work out.
The LiLLY truck is running the Juice at the moment, but we will see what develops.
Diesel Dragon 02-03-2005, 04:31 PM BMDMAX,
What was the out the door price for the Level V done at their shop?
Thx
DD
dmaxalliTech 02-04-2005, 12:51 PM DD, kit price plus 1400 fluid and labor is what they are getting..
Kennedy 02-04-2005, 03:56 PM We should see the LLY out across 420 without stacking;)
Depends if the DJ loads it hard enough. I don't have enough transmission (still stock-:t ) so I can only scratch low 400's...

John, is this w/ juice only or did u get him something special?
Kennedy 02-05-2005, 08:56 AM He's got a couple of options to test...
Dmax Tim 02-05-2005, 10:44 AM Off the shelf or some custom stuff?
BMDMAX 02-05-2005, 05:28 PM Off the shelf or some custom stuff?
It is super secret decoder ring stuff, I would tell ya but then I would get accused of reverse engineering or some other BS. ;)
Peaches rolled 420 / 800 with the LLY running the Juice. It was enough to stay on top of the list for most of the morning until a Garmon 12V kicked her down a few notches.
The Garmon 12V trucks continue to kick ass with 760 and 722 HP runs on diesel. I rolled 539.8 / 1000 with the LB7 on diesel. Running just the track jets it rolled 659 / 1200+ It never cleaned up with those jets on the rollers and I did not have time to jet up. The Garmon trucks are just awesome with those numbers on diesel and very consistent.
A big thanks to David at DPM for the dyno work and to Joe for putting on a great open house event. The food was tasty, the people were having fun and the diesel smoke was rolling! :cool2:
Looking forward to next year! :grd:
GMC-2002-Dmax 02-05-2005, 05:58 PM Peaches must be LUVIN' that LLY.............

BMDMAX 02-05-2005, 10:59 PM Stage V for both of them.
We missed you there Dave, I had hoped to see you but I would not pass up a trip to Steamboat. I loved skiing there when I lived out in Denver.
You might be able to make the season opener at Commerce this month though.... Gonna be some fast trucks there.

BMDMAX 02-06-2005, 11:47 AM It should be February 26th if I recall correctly. We are hoping for a good turnout.
king d 02-06-2005, 11:54 AM what were your numbers brandon
IBDMAX'IN 02-06-2005, 10:22 PM Hey Brandon, tell peaches thanks for the C4 clutches. Got the tranny done this weekend with new C4's thanks to you guys and Eric. Thanks again!!!
Turbine Doc 02-06-2005, 11:13 PM Brandon I think I have some shots of your trucks in the events & rallies post
BMDMAX 02-06-2005, 11:51 PM what were your numbers brandon
I made 538.9 HP and 1039.1 TQ on just diesel, even with the rattle can technology. ;)
Running the smaller jets that I use at the track it made 659.8 HP and pegged the dyno graphing software out at 1200 TQ, but I imagine it was easily into the 1300 range. There was still some smoke to clean up on the dyno but I am very happy with this setup at the track.
Tim,
You snapped a few shots of the wife's LLY truck. She was pretty happy with her numbers, it was good enough for fifth out of over thirty trucks on the dyno. Not bad for a girl. :D I have a video of one of your dyno runs, and of my Duramaxes running. I also have copies of all the shots taken by Suncoast, over 200 of them that will be sent to 4 Wheel and Off-Road magazine for an article next month. I will put together a video of all the action so you guys can download it.
It was great seeing our friends again and meeting some new ones! :cool2:
fredw 02-07-2005, 12:57 AM great numbers brandon: by the way wat jets were you running for the nitrous, and what sise do you run for the track, thanks fred

BIG DIPPER 02-07-2005, 04:00 PM  Im still waiting on a package from my favorite fed ex man............how far is it to compton?
What....... ):h Maybe Fedex wasn't running...maybe they used Pony Express.....
Why don't you have some salad while you wait? :p:
DavidTD 02-08-2005, 09:31 AM Brandon, if possible could you make me a CD with the vids and pics?
Dayle's truck ran good for a chevy.;) I kept giving her a hard time about the Fords were gonna whip her. She had my 3 year old telling me "daddy, it ain't gonna happen". We ran Dayle early in the day and she stayed top dog for a loooooong time.
Brandon's truck is just awesome. I'm still scared of the little blue button, but my goodness does it work well. :ro) Then the fuel only run was the best yet on my rollers for his truck.
Feb. 26th at Atlanta Dragway is an informal gathering for us diesel guys. I have it so we can have our own lanes if we want to race each other, and we can play with the gassers. Looks like we may have a grudge match already in the works. Dayle vs Penny, Chev vs Dodge.

No problem on the CD. As soon as I get back from the frozen North I will get it going.
Grudge Match all the way!!!! :grd:
Kennedy 02-08-2005, 12:52 PM We'll have to see about getting Dayle's truck back on the rollers with the Predator soon...
BMDMAX 02-08-2005, 01:39 PM We'll have to see about getting Dayle's truck back on the rollers with the Predator soon...
Yep, David and I are working on that right now, maybe even this weekend since we got time constrained at Suncoast. I want a good comparison with the Predator so I know what will likely work best at the Commerce race.
It is too bad I don't have an extra day up here, I am practically in your backyard compared to being at home. ;)
Kennedy 02-08-2005, 02:33 PM You DON'T want what I got man. I'm just thankful we didn't make the trip to Suncoast. Elaine had the dogs in to the Vet and he was sick (swine flue?). She was having problems starting Wednesday. I started coming down with it on Saturday and hit me hard Sunday...
