: CST 2001-2007 4" Cast Lift Spindle
LethalHD 04-02-2008, 08:35 PM like the title says! Are these spindles worth it because i don't want to spend that much on a higher price lift. It says that it is a 4 in spindle and that you can run a 35in tire and I will add some blocks in the back. Let me know what you guys think. Your help is much appreciated... also can i run my stock rims for the mean time.
Chevy1925 04-02-2008, 09:02 PM If your truck is 4wd drive they will not work on there, if you could fill out your sig it would really help us so we know what it is you drive. Also dunno what year it is. NBS. 01-2007 classic or is it older?
Steezey 04-02-2008, 11:23 PM I dont think it works like that. Just because the spindle adds 4 inches, you have to drop the Lower Control arms as well. Otherwise your angle will be all jacked up and your truck wont run right at all. You need the whole front end, but blocks are fine in the back.
ElCaminoManT 04-02-2008, 11:58 PM if its 2wd i dont see why not. its only moving the hub downward while keeping the ball joints and tie rod points the same. last 2 1500 series trucks had 4in lift spindles on the front, my pops got the my last set and has em on his 07 sierra classic 1500.
4wd will not work due to the cv axles, the lower control arms would need to be dropped with a subframe lift system
LethalHD 04-03-2008, 09:00 AM I have a 2001 2500HD 2WD sorry for not giving more info...

so you think it should work and is it worth the 550.00 dollars
8.1GASSER 04-03-2008, 11:10 AM I run the CST 4" fabricated spindles on my HD...they will work just fine for your 2wd truck...your uca, lca, tierods all stay in the factory location...the spindle basically just lowers your hub down.

What size of tire do you run and do you have any pics so that i can see how it looks. Also how is the ride and do the spindles make a difference in the look of the truck. Does it lift the truck more than just an leveling kit. I heard that you can still get more lift out of the truck with the spindles if you crank the t-bars also. Let me know bro... thanks for the input.

ElCaminoManT 04-04-2008, 12:27 AM considering its a helluva lot cheaper than a full subframe lift system that 4wds require i say yes. itll give you ALOT more ground clearance too. i do recommend that you have at least the upper ball joints replaced if you have some miles on it before putting the spindles on. i found out with my old 96 1500 that with worn joints, it handled a little funny until i replaced the joints. reason being that on those older trucks the lower ball joints came up thru the bottom of the spindle and the spindle nub was actually just below the LCA and it put a bit of extra leverage on the upper ball joints. the newer trucks have a much better ball joint setup and dont suffer from that but new upper ball joints are a good idea. the lift spindles will push the wheels out slightly so that the upper control arm can clear the wheel/tire but that helps stability. for the money, i say lift spindles are a very appealing option
sikk50 04-04-2008, 01:24 AM Meh, had a CST spindle lift on my 1500. It was ok

Cool yea I am leaning toward this spindle lift and cranking the t-bars and replacing the worn out joints. I will also go with 3inch blocks out back. I would rather go this route than spending over $1,000 plus on a suspension lift. I just want something that will lift the truck a little but nothing to big but something you can notice. Thanks for your alls help and input.
