Hey Guys,

First post here, have been reading stuff on this site for weeks. Lots of great info. Anyway, I got my 05 Duramax last week and everything is great except for this weird ticking on the drive side behind the front wheel that the Stealer says is normal with the motor at idle. " Sure it is" The other thing is at idle in drive, if I take off real slow or if the truck is rolling real slow and i gas it just a little, the truck jerks and it goes away if i gas it more or let go of the gas. Anyone seen this before? Anything would be a huge help. Thanks

"Jerks at low speed" I have a Predator on mine and I just pass them!!
Now as far as your other problem, the dealer had an update for the ECM that fixed both my 04.5's. Find a mechanic that will take to you, and he will figure it out for you. I have a good one at Molle Chevrolet in Blue Springs, Missouri if that will help. If not post your location and the good people here will help you find on close.

On a side note, REMOVE K & N BEFORE GOING TO DEALER!!

If you do a search for "surge" you will find many people complain about the same thing. Several have also noticed the "tick" and have mentioned it here.

thanks for the reply guys, I'm in the LA, southern California area. I asked the local deal in the area but of course they say all this stuff is normal. So I need to find a mechanic that knows what hes talking about. thanks

Would you mind sharing that mechanic's name at Molle?

Thanks,

Bud

Talk to Randy or Dave in commercial trucks at Molle Chevrolet (816)-228-1121, if in the Kansas City area. Tell them I sent you.

I took my 2005 Duramax to the dealer for the same surge as everyone is talking about. The 2004 trucks have an update but my truck had the latest update according to the dealer.

Took my truck to the dealer for the first oil change a while back and I told them about the surge, they plugged in the techII and said there was one update available for it. It seemed to take care of the problem.
