I'm curious what my fellow DP'ers pay for they're yearly XM radio waves?

For me, when my initial 3 month trial was over I let it expire for about 3 months and about that time I received an offer in the mail to renew for $6.99 a month for 6 months. I called them and negoiated for $5.00 a month for 12 months!
Has anyone done better???

its 9.99 plus 6.99 for each additional unit per month. so if your only paying 9.99 you got a deal.

When my initial 3 months expired, if you paid for 24 months upfront, it was renewed at $8.45 per month. Thought that was a pretty good deal at the time and now they have added even more stations to choose from.

My wife and I have it in both vehicles, we signed up for 2 years, hers was 9.95, mine was 6.95.

Gotta have XM...The comedy channel alone a couple days a week is worth it....

I love my XM, but I may have to sell the Ski-Fi now that NASCAR is switching to Sirius after the 2006 season.Censored Good thing I only locked in the $9.95 rate for 2 years.

Yea, that really chapped my arse when I heard the news. :nutkick: The last I'd heard about Xm vs Sirrius was that XM wanted to buy out Sirrius. Can't decide to re-new for a year or so, or go ahead and switch to Sirrius:confused:

I just did the same thing with a used 2003 2500HD I already had the XM Rodie w/ subscription in my old truck. Sold it to my father and told him to keep the unit and subscription untill the one in my truck ran out. If mine expires I told him I'll call and have him ship me the roadie unit!!! Can't be w/out the XM!!! Hate that they are going to loose nascar, but I bought it for XM channel 12 X-Country, and the MLB games.

It's getting like cable t.v. Tried to find a talk station the other day and every single one of them was talking about Michael Jackson. Ended up listening to Bluegrass.

Wow SteveNorCal you just saved me 60 bucks. I read you post a few weeks back and thought I will keep it in mind when my trial period runs out. Well 2 days ago it ended. I finally got around to calling XM and was prepared to haggle with them over the price as I did not want to pay the full 9.99 for radio. The guy gives me the standard pricing lines and tells me at 9.99 a month this is a good price because it is going to 12.95 on April 2. I told him I knew some people that were getting 12 months for 5.00. He tells me this is only for people that have not renewed from the expired trial period and are only offered this pricing by mail or if XM radio calls you. I tell him I want that pricing since my trial has expired and he says I cannot give it to you unless I say I got a phone call or a letter from them offering me that price. So I say "I got a phone call offering me 12 months for 5.00" and he says ok let me turn it on for you. He told me the name of the offer is "ZWINBACK". I was shocked when he did this. I figured he would say no that they have to call me and they wait a couple of months before making the offer and he knew mine expired only 2 days ago.

I can only say that this board has paid off again for me. Thanks to everyone for sharing all the good knowledge.

well this just bites,
sirius-ly
well hopefully i will be able to watch the race instead of having to listen to it on the radio anyway or better yet be there.
when i read that article on nascar.com, they made it sound like this "new" nascar chanel was a brand new thing that would bring nascar to the masses, guess its all about money and no longer about commitment to the fans that went out and bought the products from the sponsors and now they want to swithch things up on us. I for one will not be getting sirius. Maybe if it was as easy as switching satelite carriers withthe same equipment that might be an option, or maybe you can??
sorry, i got off on a rant here.
