I've seen a couple of news stories over the last few months talking about how some people are running straight veg. oil in their diesel vechicles. I really interested in doing this or something similiar to cut down on my fuel cost but I have no clue about any of it. Is anyone here doing this? I've read a few of the threads on here that talk about biodiesel and I've noticed that a few people were making their own. Where can I look into these kits and what are some good ones? I basically would like to learn EVERYTHING because right now i know NOTHING.

those will provide a lot of info. journey to forever shouldnt be taken as a sole source for knowledge. when doing bio its best to make you own with bottles, buckets, and other cheap stuff to get the process down before buying ANY processor. this will help you decide whether to build your own procesor or decide which to purchase. most people who make biow ill tell you the milti-tank systems are best. the computerized systems work but can be finniky, or unreliable as well as expensive.

im getting ready to run wvo (waste veggie oil). i dont have the time or space for bio, plus i will only have one diesel to run it in for a while. if i get a diesel car ill probably start making bio.

Look at Greasecar.com and they will have a kit out for the D Max in 2 months or less. Been running for 30K miles on WVO. The key is filteration of the VO for running in a D Max, Do a seach on my posts have explained this many times, Check out my garage. Good luck

buckshot... meant to say greasecar.com, as bass mentioned. gfs and greasel are the same thing. bass has given me much valueable info about greasecar. i may go with them, they are less expensive and have the co-pilot accessory which is awesome.

I also have the Grease Car kit. I don't know if you read Consumer Reports magazine much but a year or so ago they had a small blurp about Grease Car. CR was really doing some in depth truth finding with Ethonol and the riseing cost on fuel. They purchased a GC kit and used it. Basically they said, "It does exactly what they tell you it does."

Another thing I don't think you'll find out there with the other companies is the fantastic customer support GC has. I've called them on several occasions and they are always more then willing to answer any questions I've ever had. That even included questions about mixing other components with their system. The guy advised me where in the system he thought my FPHE would work best. I don't know to many places that offer that kind of support any more.

The forum is real good also. Lots of experienced greasers on there.

One other thing. The difference between biodiesel and a wvo (waste vege. oil) system is this: biodiesel is the chemical process of altering waste vege oil so it can go straight into a standard diesel tank with no other modifications. A wvo system is a second tank system that uses 100% filtered and dewater oil. Both have pro's and cons that you can do research on.
