The underhood clip is unreal.... too bad wind and road noise overtake what we really hear in the cab... once above 40mph the camera does not get the twin sound very well.

I did get to drive the DTT TwinMax to get coffee today.... An I am proud to say i drove it sanely and only 'tickled' the big charger twice!

That was with a 100 hp predator. Stock exhaust and kitty.
It's real tough to see the speed sign when holding on for dear life.

Nitrous might be faster... for now until the LLY gets more fuel.... but Twins don't need refilling.:ro) And the sound is close to lighting an AFTERBURNER... and the push in the seat when it engages..... OMFG! Who needs their own F-16... this is Need For Speed 130%

And EGT's were a cool as a cucumber. When they Finish and install and test my set, I will be able to let the LB7 guys know what to expect:eek:

BTW, What size of Head Studs on a DMX?..... I Might need them for the more than 80 PSIG of boost that this setup can produce!

Maybe?
LOL):h

I am under STFU Gag order. I do not have one picture of this setup.
An that is the way it has to stay until I am given permission to do otherwise.
I will say this. If you want lower EGT's more power, less smoke and no refills.
This kicks major heiney

I would like to thank Everyone involved in this project for trusting me with this information.
J

BTW, there are other video versions, but because of the gag order they are not available until the kits are released I had to rednecklowtec edit the videos before DTT /Nathan (IdahoCTD) would allow their release . So enjoy them for now, and Give Nathan a PM of thanks. Without him giving the green light, these videos would not have happened.

In 4 months Nathan has done what we have been waiting 4 years for. EGT relief and more power. Is that not enough?

I will not betray their trust by taking a picture to satisfy 1000 members who can't wait for the final product, let alone you who is doubting this:badidea:

BTW it took 2 times to convince some in this board of my #2 HP numbers... they even saw the dyno sheets and some still did not believe. Steve Cole erased that disbelief with a little more info added in.
Pics.....
Who cares about pics?
we all have seen pics for 2-4 years on stuff that is not on the market.
Pics are not useable on our trucks.

It took 4 months? By god I'm gonna have to get dual citizenship if that continues. (In Juices defense I actually looked under the hood 4 month or so ago and it has been planned for about that long). It did take 2 full weeks to do even though I was up there for almost 3. Those LLY's are tight.

I know it did not take you 4 months Nathan, I was only trying to illustrate my point for those who are doubting its existance.

The point i tried to make was that PICTURES or STICKERS do not provide EGT relief or more power, PRODUCT DOES!

I Have seen and Driven the product (You think you guys are gonna have a sleepless night... i drove it and have to wait a bit now) and it is a kickass mod!

Yeah I know. I helped Jason from NW Custom develop the twins that are now being sold as PDR twins. Two of my trucks have twins and I've built 10 sets or so myself. I'll also have a couple of kits available for the Dodges soon. Brandon (Joefarmer) has the HX40/B2 kit I had on my truck when I dynoed 700.1hp on #2 as well. The B2 in that kit is actually the first one that was ever built into a twin kit according to the guy I got it from (the only dealer for the B series turbos at that time).

If your refering to John DiMartino I tuned his truck a little at Muncie last year. A friend of his, Trevor Wood, is running a set of twins I built as well. Hell I've had a nitrous kit here at my house for going on 3 years and it's never been hooked up. I guess the twins and #2 thing just runs in my blood (so to speak).

Slownova,

Nathan and I roughed out some pricing and it will be pretty close to the same or less than the Dodge set-ups on the introductory sets. I have already been getting pm's from guys that are interested and they will get first crack at them. I'm kinda making a LLY list and an LB7 list.:ro)
Talked to Nathan and he said that he can start building the LB7 set-up by this weekend and finish them by the end of the week.:ro) :grd: So now it looks like the finish time is gonna be up to Juice. If Juice can't stay up here a little longer it will take 3 more weeks until he can get back here.:(

What kind of boost can the chevy diesel take? Do/did you have to o-ring or fire ring the head like some on the Cummins do? Is this for a towing, sled pulling or drag racing crowd? I know, so many questions....

Leadfoot
02-06-2005, 04:44 PM
Anybody know what the "kit" will include? I assume it will be a second turbo (obviously) with associated plumbing, intake, and mounting hardware, but what about injectors, fuel/lift pump(s), and programming.

I'm assuming more air means more fuel, so I'm just curious how they handle that.....

More curious than anything as I probably won't be able to afford them for another 2-3 years (after tranny upgrades)...

No one really knows what kind of boost they will take on a daily basis because every truck is different. They use MLS gaskets like the 3rd gen Cummins that is capable of 60psi without studs or o-ringing/firerings. So I would think 50psi would be fairly safe but only time will tell for sure. I would say they'd be better for towing and racing more so than sled pulling but dont count this setup out for that either.

The kit will include the turbo, plumbing, and all mounting hardware. Most people already have a box with enough fuel to use the twins and everyone likes different things so I think including fueling enhancements isn't a a very good idea.

this is not to downgrade the twins, but rather help in its construction

We haven't seen one as of yet so that will be the next truck we will need to get ahold of to test fit parts to. Between the two totally different kits we should be able to make one usable kit for the CA trucks but we wont know until one is here. If anyone is interested in taking pictures and sending them that would be appreciated.

Luke, I do not know how much of the unburned fuel will be converted into power. I have an awful lot of smoke (CTD HO 370's and HY kinda smoke)
We will be dynoing the new setup soon, hopefully there will be a DP member or 2 in attendance.
Results will be posted for interested parties. More than likely on NWBombers,KYDTR, TDR, and possibly here if there is anyone here interested.
My last dyno was fairly strong and i would like to use that dyno again for a direct comparison, but Nathan assures me the dyno we will be using is quite... stingy. In that respect the numbers should be reproducible or higher on any other dyno in the country.
Currently Nathan is Tuning the response time and boost levels (due to the fuelling curves of the HPCR system) to a modest level. The big loud spinny thing' evidently is capable of pushing to the limit of a studded CTD (without rings)
IdahoCTD will be releasing the details very soon, the dyno event is the week of the 26th.
