They're quite stiff. I went from a '98 C3500 to the '08, so I skipped a whole generation. My '98 couldn't support half of what this truck does, but it did ride smoother.

I will say that mine rides much better now that it is dialed in. Almost all of the "highway hop" is gone, which the airbags eat most of.

But, when you put a load or trailer or both to it, it doesn't sweat a bit. Awesome truck.

You can add a set of airbags on the rear end and when you ride empty keep about 10-15psi in the bags and it helps smoothe the ride by keeping the truck off of the stiff suspension. Plus when you load your truck heavy it will also ride better.

Rough ride? This thing rides much softer than my '02 2500 and the family agrees. Could it be better? Sure!

50 extra gallons of fuel may have something to do with it.

Mine rides better than my 03 GMC CC 4X4 short bed, and rides great with my 16,500# 5th wheel.

Actually rides pretty doggone good for a 1 ton DRW truck. I mean, that's what it is. I believe it rides a "tad" smoother then the 05' that I traded in for the 07.5'.

Actually, I just installed the tank last weekend. My ride comparison was before that. I will say that I have the thickest spray in liner I've ever seen. I weighed the truck and by the loading tag on the door post and I was about 400# heavier. Only add ons then were bedliner, nerf bars and flaps.
It won't compare to your air ride. That's the cats meow. :)

Mine is alot smoother than my 03 3500. My new one is a 4x2, so that may be the difference.
