Well, My day could have ended better. On my way home tonight, my transmission started acting a bit weird. Keep in mind I just got the truck back from having the tranny rebuilt. So I am already a bit steamed that this is happening. I pull up to a stop light and once it turns green, start to take off and the tranny starts slipping like crazy.

I finally make it through the intersection and pull into an empty parking lot. I find that my transmission cooler spit out one of my cooling lines and it is spilling out the last of the fluid. So I quickly shut it down. After a little waiting and patching I nursed it home. Two hours later. Ok  over. Oh, it shifted fine once back on the road too.

Ok, to the question. I've looked on Lubrication Specialists website and didn,t find anything. But does anyone offer a cooler set up like their oil cooler, but for trannys? If I am going to replace everything, I would like to get a better set up than what came stock. Or am I stuck with OEM replacements? Thanks for readin through the rant.(I feel better) Jack

GM dealer item. Go original ,they are 14 yrs old. If the problem is just in the hose sections replace the hoses. They were OK till the trans shop butchered them ,right!!! The system is reliable.

Are the tranny lines supposed to have a screw in fitting at the cooler? Mine are metal from the tranny, turn into rubber and then back into metal. But where they make the 90 degree bend to go up to the cooler, mine is connected through another rubber line. It looks like the PO cut the metal line and used a rubber hose and a set of clamps to make the connection. This isn't correct is it? The sun's up now so I can do some more investigating.

The OEM line end is steel & snaps into the cooler fitting. If the cooler has a barb end ,as the cooler fitting , it is aftermarket.

My 1 ton dually didn't come with a factory one either, i added one after the radiator cooler. Just got a barb, screwed it in the top outlet to the new cooler, and plumbed the new cooler into the steel return line. Mounted it in front of the radiator behind the grill.
