I think I would try another dealer first. One that would do a parasitic load test to see if something is drawing the battery down when the truck is off and then a battery capacity test to determine if the battery has dead cells which could hold a surface charge once started and lose it overnite. Delco batteries have had a history of bad cells. I have seen dozens of them that show a bright green eye indicating a full charge yet were dead as doornail. Both are relatively simple tests so I think your stealer is blowing smoke up your ass. Find another GM dealer who will diagnose it properly before you go Lemon Law.

If you can service the battery yourself, you can test for dead cells with a tool. Pretty slick. Pop the caps off, suck some of the fluid out and watch the gauge on the tool. We have one with balls that float and mine just has a dial indicator. Tells you whether a cell is bad or not.

Diesel Geezer is right though. Sounds like someone is just blowing smoke. If you are a really big DIYer, you can even purchase a battery load tester and see what that tells you.

If it were me though......I would just buy a new battery because the girlfriend would wonder why the hell I bought a load tester! :D

Just make sure the battery is fully charged, then hook a volt meter to it and see how far the voltage drops when somebody cranks it over for you. If it drops below say 10.5 volts it's toast.

Take the battery to O'Reilly and have them do a load test.

Attempt to rotate the battery cables around their respective mounting bolts, by hand. They are too loose if they move. Also, any NAPA auto parts store (and most others) has a new style, electronic battery tester. Get it done, as it is typically free.

Oh, and find a new dealer.

And, do you have any aftermarket accesories installed?

I've seen this happen twice. Both times it was a defective radio radio. To find this out you simply take the fuse out and see if your battery starts holding a charge. You can also use a digital voltmeter to see if the voltage is slowing bleeding off before you remove the fuse. I can't remember the specific problem within the radio but your radio can still be funtioning properly and still be causing the drain. Another quick and easy way to check your battery cells is to use your volt meter and check from cell to cell. I use 3 or 4" nails hooked to my alligator clip probes and you just stick one nail in the first cell and the other in the second cell, you should have approx. 2.1 volts. Then probe the 2nd cell to the 3rd cell. Repeat this all the way across the battery looking for 2+ volts from cell to cell. This only proves if one cell is completely dead. The nails can then be thrown in the trash and your clips are still clean. You could show 2 volts on every cell and still have a defective battery. As stated in a previous post.....You can watch the volt meter as the truck is started and see if it reads below 10.5 volts. Good Luck.

The battery are maintenance free on these trucks, ie. the vents are non-removable.

That's what I figured. Dang maintenance free. :D
