I was wondering what it would take to shoot flames out my exhaust using the excess fuel produced when I punch it.
Can you just put a spark plug or glow plug in there and put power to it? Intuitively I would say no, thinking diesel does not ignite like gas does.
What do you guys think? Do I have to inject propane as well?
(This would just be an experiment for fun, I don't plan on dedicating a large amount of time to this...:))
Thanks!

Not to smash your hopes but youd need a lot of fuel to ignite it so you'd be better off using propane and a spark plug.

When I was at the DHRA nationals there was a guy that had the flame shooting exhaust, he used acetylene for fuel, but I'm not sure what he used as ignition, it was pretty sweet. Good Luck!

i'd just use a spark plug and some sort of distributor.

You could even use a grill ignitor.

you would need some type of fuel (i.e. propane) and a spark. The exhaust is basically an inert gas and will not ignite.

More fuel than black smoke...? (I kinda think so...)

I'm just not sure if I'd have enough fuel coming out of the exhaust...
Hopefully someone who's done it will reply and tell us how! :D

On a gas job you can do it with an ignition coil and spark plug. Supply 12V to the coil, spark plug wire to the plug.
