Fitter216 02-02-2005, 01:33 PM :help: (http://dieselplace.com/forum/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=30#)Just wondering; if anyone knows where i could find a 6" ehaust upgrade (after cat) for my 04.5' 2500 HD Sport 4x4 Cummins T600? any info would help:thankyou2
Mac500r 02-02-2005, 05:35 PM Check bullydog.com Ithink I saw some ungodly huge exhaust on thier site..
Z71 Grizzly 02-02-2005, 05:56 PM You know how LOUD that's going to be with the newer Dodges. My neighbor has an 05 and he sthraight piped the stock 4" and it is almost as loud as the 6" stacks on his old truck.
hauliday 02-02-2005, 09:02 PM city muffler in ok city ok sells 4" and 5" i know you try them as well
Fitter216 02-03-2005, 08:18 AM Thanks for replying Mac500r, Z71 Grizzly, and hauliday... that info helped.... after i posted, i thought of calling the tractor trailer dealers.... to see if they knew of any place that would....
Thankyou for your replies..:ro)
Z71 Grizzly 02-03-2005, 08:37 AM Yeah good idea, We have a big Semi dealer in our town and that's where some of mr friends get there exhaust stuff. I know they would have 6" pipe.
nickleinonen 02-03-2005, 12:23 PM 5" is easy to get systems in that size [i got one on my 305/555] 6" is big... real big..
Fitter216 02-08-2005, 02:19 AM talked to Brian @ BANKS the other day, on the phone and he said that a 6" exhaust would cut down on my low end torque greatly, let alone HP too, is that true.....?????????????
Patriot_RAM 02-08-2005, 12:30 PM I've heard the same about 5", but it's been argued by many. I don't know of anybody that has actually posted a HP/TQ loss on a dyno, however. I know Rip Rook has a good aluminized 5" system for a GREAT price. You might want to check with him if you don't find anything 6". I don't think the 6" is going to be louder than 4 or 5. It will most likely have a deeper tone. Mine has 5" straight and it's no louder than 4", just deeper.
cumminz12v 02-08-2005, 02:47 PM Don't listen to Banks and their junk,-:t -:t -:t they're just trying to sell
you something of theirs. They'll tell it's no good just because they don't have it.
I'd go with the biggest you could find,:grd: your best bet being from a
semi-truck stop or dealer.
Fitter216 02-08-2005, 05:04 PM :rocking: :driver: I'm not just listenin to Banks. I just found out that one of the guys that works there, possiably met him when i was an early teenager.... just reserching right now and weighing out my options. I want to gain horse power and torque, and with a new free flow mufler would b the first step in doing so...I think...
Thanks for you reply :rockit:
Lennox69 02-08-2005, 06:13 PM that is true with gassers but not with diesel...the bigger the better if you have a turbo...diesel will loose h/p and torque if the don't have turbos..but you should be fine...if you can snake it under the frame right...good luKKKKKK
Fitter216 02-08-2005, 07:32 PM Ive seen 5" and it fits so i figured that a 6" should hv no problems w/ a 2-3" body lift. "....looking into that mater too...."
Thanks for your reply:ro)
palemale 02-12-2005, 09:06 PM Are you guys talking about the newer trucks? My neighbor has a '92 that I'd like to buy. The idea of a 4 or 5" exhaust sounds good to me! I have a full size hydraulic pipe bender, but it "only" has 3" shoes to bad. What else lo-budget should be done? Crank up the injector pump?:help2: I'm sure this has been discussed in previous posts. I'll take a look around.
Mac500r 02-13-2005, 06:28 AM I have heard that 5and 6'' exhaust can actually create a vacuum on the turbine side of the turbo when not under a heavy load. This means that the vacuum can cause a major ineficiency at cruising speeds, hampering performance and mileage.??????
Hear say!
