just figure on adding a new section in your budget..it may be rough to justify some mods..but you always find a way, and its worth it in the end.:exactly:

It is some kind of sickness, my walleye boat is full to the brim with rods, reels, tackle boxes & electronics, my atv has just about everything that I could bolt on to it, my Kubota tractor has all the attachments. Now the D/A has filled the void, or should I say is creating a void in my pocket. Whatever makes us happy! 04.5 cc sb D/A.

I first met Nick before he founded the "Diesel Place." He told me how he wasn't going to chip his truck. He was just going to free the horse power already there; open up the exhaust, intake, that sort of thing. Next thing I know his tires are bald and he's got bloodshot eyes, like he's strung out or something and he's trying every chip and box he can get his hands on to satisfy his addiction. A choir boy no more, alas ... and now he has infected me.... :devilfing

Guys

The reason for the addiction is something that GM paid the oil companies to add to diesel fuel. It is more addictive than any other chemical known to men (and even some ladies like Dmax Diva). It is a closely guarded secret and all chemical analysis has failed to reveal what it is. This prevents lawsuits from being filed to recoup expenses and compensation for failed marriages, etc. The only known cure is to go back to gas burning vehicles of other brands that shall remain nameless. Help may be had through joining local chapters of Addicts of Duramax Owners Anonymous (ADOA). These local chapters will be formed as a result of wives and significant others joining together to combat the growing additiveness of mods to GM Duramax powered trucks. It has become a problem in the US and Canada. Canadian chapters are also being formed for our brothers to the north.

I have been on this forum for a while now and i keep telling my dad that he needs to get a chip because it will help help his fuel mileage.

Ok now after looking at this forum my thoughts are what is the biggest chip he can buy that will up his fuel economy but will give my something that i can turn on high when i drive it and make that mother scream like it was ment to do.

he might have to put in a stage III trans by the time i get done playing with it.

i can't waite to get my @ss out of college so i can be a man and get some real toys.

having the biggest peddle tractor don't cut it like it use to.

I too said I was gonna keep it stock, just like every vehicle I've ever owned. I cant seem to leave anything stock. Then its like .....Just a K&N....ok maybe an exhaust then thats it. Then surfing and found the Edge products and yet nothing was available for the LLY for what seemed like ever. I bought a Caprice police package and juiced the sh$% out of it and ended up running high 12's with it. I actually started looking at a blower. Running boards, tonneau cover, bug shield, rain guard covers, tint, 285's A/T's, Westin bull bar in black, a second set of fog lights, ect. Then I bought a 2000 Crown Vic police package....Only a K&N filter and maybe a Hypertech. Ok both came then tint, then floor mats, then a cd player, then $600 18" black cobra rims and naturally tires for 780 fat ones......Now I want a paint job for it, drilled and slotted rotors, like the 13" police specific rotors and pads longer than my arm arent big or strong enough, a new grill, new head light housings, new console color matched with the interior, then took 2 of the 4 cats off and now I want to stay with magnaflow since I always have been loyal to that brand. Then a Hypertech for my wifes 04 Blazer ZR2. Then tint, rain gaurds, full Westin brush guard and now I'm gonne get her running boards and pricing some black rims for her too. Then I find myself looking for a set of under drive pulleys for the Crown Vic, saving for a paint job, looking for a set of a pillar guages for the truck, boost and pyro, a bigger trailer for all the toys, and so on. I had too many problems with the Edge system so I took it off. Now running a hypertech since all I've ever bought is Hypertechs, u send them back and they tune it for your vehicle for 200 bucks. It has worked out well. Now, thanks to all you power hungry people, I want more in it. I miss the in cab controller. I miss the guages but not the marble in the coffee can sound during warm up. So, to sum it up, gentlemen, I to 'am addicted to power and never ending modifications. I want more and more and more. The wife says " isnt it fast enough? The answer is very simple but yet complex. The caprice, yes is is fast enough....But a blower would finish it off nicely. The ford is torquey down low but has no top end power. High revving and you really gotta get into it to get it moving. A sweet sounding over head cammer but definately not an OHV LT1....by no means. I have driven both for years while on duty and my current take home unit is Hyperteched...Dont tell my fleet manager. Then the truck. Do we need a 7000lb mass of steel and good looks to out run a Vette?.....................Absolutely. Do I want a 4400lb full size retired cruiser to make a young punk in a civic or a gt stang look stupid? Absolutely. And there is no end to it. Period. All you guys who think you're gonna leave'em stock, think again or dont sign up for these web sites. I have learned a lot about my truck and continue to do so every day thanks to all of you and your problems and experiences. So when she askes you..............; Why do you need 3 vehicles or 500 h.p. or earth moving torque, or the ability to leave a strip of rubber for a 300 feet? (dark, unpopulated road of course).....Do not reply with " Why do you need 40 pairs of shoes or 17 different types of sandles? " Yeah, I was in the extra bedroom that night.
Remember gentlemen: RADAR will pick up the biggest mass of rolling steel before anything else.

Hello, my name is Denns. I am a dieselhaulic. ):h

I did manage to keep my 2003 stock for a few years. Shortly after buying my 2005 I started with a headlight mod, EGR plate, and Fingers' Stick. Now I want to do something with the exhaust, get some gauges, a box.....:blahblah:
I only drove the truck the first week (purchased 11/2004). Since then it has been in storage. Don't want to get salt on the new truck!! Wife won't let me do any more until we get more miles on it and make sure all the 'bugs' are out of it. I have mentioned that more power is available:ro)- and she likes the idea - hope that will keep my out of the spare bedroom:eek: .

:help2: BTW - Still looking for LB7 front pipe!

Can I get a box for my Kubota diesel??

One day at a time.....

Must kill Vipers:snipersmiCorvette's (sorry pat had to say it)
or anything else that thinks that your BOMBED truck is just 'another one of those slow @55 smelly diesel trucks'

Uh-HUH!
Tell that to me when you get 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, Q/M in 13.2@110 mph

hmmm.... even a Porsche will need to be on it's toes to 'teach you' a lesson
in fact even a 1989 930 shifting perfectly will not take the stripe if you run that quick (935DP Flaschbau not included of course)

12 seconds is still 'Holy Grail' for a 'Street Car'
Let alone a full size 4WD Pickup Truck:ro)

It helps to know I'm not trying to deal with this all alone...

Just knowing that there are others out there helps...

On those cold lonely nights, huddled up next to the truck... :Pshyco:

At least now I can tell my wife it's the disease... I can't control it... don't blame me, have sympathy and compasion for me!

They've always said "Admiting you have a problem is the first step... " but where do I go from here??

What if I don't want a cure??

Well now you can move to the next step, sell the truck and buy a mini van.:badidea: HA HA HA. Two weeks ago GF or gold diger of 3 1/2 years calls me while at a friends house and says "propane huh". Well the better fule milag spill worked for programer, chip, and happy gas but not the propane, she got MAD and hung up, the next day she calls at lunch and says "go n to Olive Garden to eat to night?" I say "no, got no money" she calls me a "selfish A hole" hangs up. Now I'm single:grd: and have a propane kit. Now that being said raced a guy in a rice burner yesterday you know the out come. After slowing down, her she came in her little chick car with a big smile and a wave.WOW, what girl friend that girl was HOT and she liked the truck.:offtopic: , but I think im the first one on this site that lost a GF over a mod.

PS more money for the truck now:lol: .

The 12 Step Program:

1) We admitted we were powerless over mod'g - that our traction had become unmanageable.

2) Came to believe that a Power greater than Nitrous could restore us to sanity.

3) Made a decision to turn our credit cards and our truck over to the care of the local speed shop.

4) Made a searching and fearless inventory of available go-fast goodies.

5) Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact RWHP of our trucks.

6) Were entirely ready to have God remove turbo-bark, trans slip, and bursting.

7) Humbly asked Him to reduce our ET's.

8) Made a list of all ricers we had smoked, and became willing to kick their fannie harder the next time.

9) Gave immediate spankings to such ricers wherever possible, except when to do so would get us a ticket.

10) Continued to take personal inventory of our spare parts and when we were low promptly stocked up.

11) Sought through Dyno and ET's to improve our HP with whatever we can lay our hands on, praying only for solid headgaskets and long turbo life.

12) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to speedoholics and to practice these principles at every stoplight.
