I just got my first diesel truck and am here to learn tips and tricks to keep it on the road and do some mods (turbo). I have an 82 GMC 2wd dually crew cab. It was originally a 6.2 but now has a GM 6.5 crate motor running the 6.2 manifolds, injection, etc. I plan on building my own turbo set up using a GM-6 junkyard turbo ($60) and Hummer headers ($40) that I will modify the right side to run the turbo. I plan on making all the plumbing myself to save $$. I am hoping to do my intercooled turbo set up for less than $500. I do not know much about diesels yet but I have been wrenching my own cars and motorcycles my whole life so I think the change won't be that hard for me. Anyway, thats all for now. Take care.
